Some googling reveals that, with the new law of 2014, that it is illegal to see an escort for the buyer. I am wondering what the penalty might be for this? Will the penalty show up in a background check that companies sometimes do when hiring?
True but we all have to remember: kinder, gentler perb to the newbies... as trying as that can be at timesHoly cow man that "new law" was four years ago.
There was a C36 thread, search for that.
This issue has been done to death.
Houses used as meth labs are usually unsafe to inhabit. They need professional decontamination due to the chemicals. Here is a question on topic. In Winnipeg if you get caught picking up a street girl they impound your car and quite often seize and auction it. Wondering if you do an incall to your house and get caught if the police also have the right to seize and auction your house? They do this to drug dealers here often.
The one by Advance wasn't seized, it was a rental. They continued to live there for some time after the events.Houses used as meth labs are usually unsafe to inhabit. They need professional decontamination due to the chemicals.
Grow ops are case by case. Big ones use a lot of chemicals especially highly toxic pesticides. There is mould because of humidity. There may be hazardous wiring, some guys steal power right from the pole if the have a lot of 1000 Watt lights.
There was a grow busted near me with hundreds of plants about five years ago. Cops took all the equipment, owners kept house. They were not gang associates though.
Some gangs rent houses to use and destroy them.
I have never heard of a house being seized over incall or streetwalkers.
Not sure if the notorious one by Advance was seized? That was a big time bawdy house with several workers.
If it is one guy bringing a girl home I cannot see a judge imposing forfeiture.
Me thinks legal Escorts are more consequencial than illegal Escorts. Some googling reveals that, with the new law of 2014, that it is illegal to see an escort for the buyer. ...
I agree with most of what 80Watts says but with right wing people complaining about an activist court when their bad laws are struck down for being illegal, I want to challenge the comment that "The law in 2014 was forced on the public by the supreme court of Canada". That is not what happened. The law in 2014 was forced on the public by the supreme court of Canada; and the conservative government (Harper) at the time said "fuck you" and hence made prostitution illegal for the taker not the giver, where before it was legal in all sense of the law.
