I think I will ride my bike in Richmond from now on. At least the RCMP is a weee bit more reluctant now to taser folks for not wearing a helmet there.

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Vancouver Police are on track to hand out nearly three times the number of tickets for not wearing a helmet while riding a bike, compared to last year. So far this year, they've handed out almost 1,300 fines of $35.
Mark Fearn with the Vancouver Bicycle Club says he's not surprised by the number of tickets.
"I went to the Dragon Boat Festival and walked down the seawall and a friend and I actually counted 60 odd females and 65 males without helmets."
Police say the increase in tickets is due to more police enforcement and more people not wearing helmets.
