Cristal better learn to backpedal pretty quick & post an apology or something. VE's rep being always up to par is getting ugly!!

Victoria's Eden has never allowed any racist behaviour of any kind. No racist comments nor racist actions have ever been tolerated at VE. For the record I will say that I believe that Cristol has crossed the line with some of her statements and I think that it is more lack of thought and poor choice of words that have made up this post and I hope that it will be made right very quickly. It is apparent that the client in question has acted himself quite inappropriately but that is no excuse for some of the things that were said. We are all entitled to our own opinions but as much as I would like to back Cristol on this one I simply cannot. Coming from a very multicultural family I understand that even seemingly harmless jokes and comments can be damaging, insulting and hurtful and must never be tolerated in any form. Subtle racism is often the most dangerous kind. I am a bit surprised that the MOD didnt remove the post already. As for the client in question and to all readers who have been offended by these comments you have my sincerest apologies and my assurance that the said post does not in any way portray the attitudes and opinions of Victoria's Eden. We know we can't undo the damage that has been done here but for Monday October 25th only, we will be offering $10 off to any Victoria client who mentions this post and will also be donating $5 from each call that day to the local Multicultural Center here in Victoria.

First of all I would like to say I am very aware of the fact that many of you will remain angry despite anything I say so please don't pick this apart pretending I believe differently. I am like the rest of you, sharing my opinion. Im not under some ignorant illusion from my supposed lack of education, that my offering will make the images of past hate for some of you go away. My offer does not change the institutional bias' and subtle racism that many of you endure each day. I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult that is and I am so sorry that a company associate has mistakenly contributed to that in anyway.
As an individual person I am so sad that my company has been labled racist especially in this day, time and country. I am also sickened by all the hate that been generated by this toward VE, the VE Girls, Myself and even Cristol. I do understand the initial outrage but to turn this into a witch hunt is truly sad. I have been called names, accused of dishonesty, been labled a bad person and stereotyped on this board by those who feel the same has been done to them! One person's lapse in good judgement has caused alot of people to retalliate with the same unthought out hate. If you have thought this out and still hate me then I am sorry and must say that's so sad. Ignorance is truly contagious.
I remember a day when I was about 20 years old when I was sitting for coffee with a good friend of mine. During our converstation, the subject of the racial tension he had endured in the past came up. He being of South American decent and myself white, I figured it would be appropriate for me to show him how an intelligent non racist like myself was aware of all this by saying, "Well we sure are lucky to live in Victoria where we don't have to deal with stuff like racism eh?" Well I will never forget the look on his face, the awkward silence or the feeling of shame I felt. I could not believe that I could be so ignorant and hurtful to someone so close to me yet in the same breath state that I was not a racist. Now I didnt say I hated South Americans did I? So what did I do wrong? Well I'm sure everyone out there who has been stereotyped or victim to such stupid comments as this can testify that ending racism is more than just ending racial crimes. It is about learning similarities, embracing differences and understanding the pain cause from subtle as well as blatant acts. Not everyone has had the benefit of a moment like mine years ago to become aware of their own ignorance. I hope that the future holds no more such moments for me but Im human and prone to mistakes. Is this such a moment for Cristol? I sure hope it is.
For the time that I have known and worked with Cristol she has been one of the best phone staff ever because of her honesty and equal treatment of all ladies and clients alike. I have for some time now considered her a freind and have never seen any such racism out of her lips nor any hated directed at anyone out of ignorance. So you can understand my shock of this situation. As much as I would like to justify the words of a freind I cannot. Is Cristol a racist? My heart tells me no. That is my opinion and yours may differ. If Im wrong and she is a rascist, then I truly pity her along with all those who choose to hate others for any reason. "Do not heat the stove for those you choose to hate so hot that you end up scalding yourself or those you love!" Hate is a poison.
As a business my personal feelings stand. I have met Lexi enough times to know that the physical description in the review is false. I do know she was so visibly shaken after this appointment that Cristol felt the need, for the first time in 3 years in the biz, to unprofessionally lash out at a client. Do SP's talk about their time with clients? When alot of you gentlemen see our ladies (I will note that some of the sweetest and most sexually satisfying clients ARE Asian) and knock thier socks off, how can they help but brag about your treatment of them. On the otherhand if an SP experiences a bad date, things will be mentioned. There is no excuse for lack of respect both ways. Does this belong on a public board? For the record, VE and Luscious say NO NO NO and I repeat NO. That move was a mistake; an irrepairable mistake. For this reason and discretion, I will not share further details of all the contact between this client and Cristol/Lexi nor will I comment any further on the details of the booking. Enough damage has been done. With that said and despite how I feel about the situation I will apologize to Hamster for all that was said publicly about him and for all the trouble this may have caused him.
Will I stop using Cristol's help in bringing over VE Girls to see you fellas? Probably not. I don't think you Mainland Gents nor the VE Girls deserve to suffer anymore from this incident. I can assure you after this there will be NO MORE such posts from Cristol. My apologies are sincere and what VE has offered is just a small token to those who were offended but still find enough forgiveness in their hearts to continue using VE's services. It was not intended to make everything ok nor do I expect it will. I am asking (perhaps undeserving) for forgiveness and peace.
Will you use VE again? I do hope so. If not now then maybe in time as you see our positive past and future actions cannot be denied by one single mistake. I'm truly sorry for all of this guys and gals.

Bravo Luscious. I commend you for makeing every effort to set this right and your comment are right on. As for the situation it got all blowen out of proportion because one person started by showing disrepect for another by trying to take what they wanted , and not caring about someone ealses bondery's.
I think we all have our prejudice toward s something, but I try to respect everyone , untill they show me that they don't deserve any respect. Now consider where we are here on the perb board, where it is all about nude dancer ,sex trade workers and the people that like and use there servises, ther all ready is a prejudice by so called main stream society towards anyone that is in the bues. And that stigma will hurt aperson as much or more then any form of racisum.
We all made a chose to be here .persuing our sexuallity and we must remember to respect everyone at all time, for if we don't we just feed societies prejudices.

Today's racism can be so subtle. In that way, it can be harder to identify & confront as was the more overt in-your-face racism of the past. Being Jewish, I can attest to that. It's a matter of consciousness. These days almost no one would admit to being a bigot, certainly not I, although am I totally without prejudice? Honestly, probably not, & admitting that is a first step to some kind of self-awareness. In the 80's as these issues continued to rage, Reagan reflected nostalgically on the 50's when "We didn't know we had a racial problem". Exactly right, in his own perverse manner. It wasn't confronted for what it was.

what are we going to do with all those uppity coloured folk!
My 0.02 cents granted I am a mere junior member here, but after viewing the grand exalted poobah's response to Luscious's initial attempt at damage control, I'd like to ask if he would care to please clarify the intent of his comments regarding "those uppity coloured folk"...

Luscious,

you have dealt with this situation in a very professional manner and your comments are appreciated in response to Cristal's unfortunate outburst.

all employees should be aware that they do represent their employer whether on the job or off of it and should act accordingly. what you say in private should remain private, but what you post publicly is very public and reflects on everyone involved.

at the same time, many of us clients want anonymity and discretion with this business and an incident like this is not reassuring for any of us -- good or bad.

this situation could have been dealt with in a much more discrete and mature manner, such as informing other agencies of this client and his habits without resorting to a personal public attack.

I can only hope that the good that comes out of this situation is that ALL agency owners/managers are sitting down with their phone staff and having a serious discussion regarding the treatment of clients and how to handle situations like the one Cristal/Lexi encountered in a more mature and effective manner.

a little over sensitive

She went too far, but people over react to everything race. There are certan cultural truths to asians and to every other culture. I've noticed a visible trend for asian men to treat women less well than I would expect (with my whitebread mother-dominant upbringing). I see east indian guy treat women REALLY bad. And its totaly different than how a white guywould/will treat her horribly. The world is too PC. If you think about it, theres a grain of truth in most sterio-types.

Dont belive me? Think about a white guy, undershirt, late '70s early '80s trans-am. You know who he is with out talking to him... even if you might be wrong.

I'm not trying to insult anyone, just remember than that the out of control Politicaly Correct movement only works when you forget that white people suck just as much as anyone else.

I so agree...The industry as a whole sterotypes...if 9 out 10 east indian clients you see smell of curry... is it racist to say EI's smell...if 9 out of 10 asian males have smaller than average penis size is it racist to say...in this industry we tend to make generalizations based on our experience with clients rather than public experience...we all make pre-judgements...IT IS WRONG...but we all do it.

I still believe people have not really changed since the good old days when racism was more out in the open. I think in todays more politically correct environment people have just learned to hide it better.

WHACK... Hear that? That's the sound of you hitting the nail on the head. ;) Well put, I'd agree entirely.

Anyways, sorry about the length of the post, it's 4AM and I (as I'm sure all of you as well) have some strong beliefs when it comes to racism. Easy to get carried away on a rant.... ;)

MY point was not that one group is better or worse. My point is that no mater how hard we try to pretend otherwise, no mater how much we scrounge for excuses: DIFFERENT CULTURES ARE DIFFERENT!

It's true. I'm not even goint to dignify your atempt to change what i said to a race/class issue.

The best example i can think of is (sadly) a group of east indian guys at a bar. (now everyone thinks i hate EIs) I've seen groups of guys come in, and the guys just start shouting at the girls, grabing them, calling them names if the girls tell them off. ITS BECAUSE THEY THINK IT'S OK. I've never seen any other type of person do that with such a over the top attitude.

Now white guys are just as bad. They do horrible things too. but they do it DIFFERENTLY. Date rape drugs seem like a remarkably white guy thing to me (at least in vic).

BOTH are BAD. but you need to stop running away shouting "income level! education level! neighbourhood!" and accept that if some of those factors can count, so can culturual differences AND race or *gasp* genetics.

And Fudd, if you think its just as bad now as it was when a minority could get lynched if they just happend to be around a dead white guy.. thats sad. Hell gay people can get married now. My hope is that we'll get to the point that people wont even care if we have a half black half chinese gay female prime minister.... because it wont even be an issue anymore. people wont care one way or another, because it shouldn't matter. thats what i hope for.

Robbc ... the funny thing about ad hoc arguments is that they are as often wrong as they are correct. the bottom line in this issue, whether it was littlehamster's actions, cristal's comments and actions and any other thing that happens ... sooner or later we ALL have to take responsibility for our own actions and quit blaming our economic-social-political-cultural-ethnic-racial-gender-sexuall orientation-religious situation ... you can either make the best of your life or make the worst of it, but it is still your decision.

yes, life is easier if you are educated and wealthy, but look at the crime and racism that exists among the elite -- plenty of stories about it in the news.

with regard to poverty: most poor people do not commit crimes even though they lack other economic opportunities -- but poor people are blamed for crimes because the resources are spent to catch them -- the resources to catch the 'white collar' criminals just don't exist.

the only way things will EVER get better is when EVERYONE accepts responsbility for his or her own actions and is willing to live with the consequences.

this is the problem with the 'povery causes crime' theory ... it removed individual responsibility for actions from the individual and dumped it on 'society' ... we now have more deviant behaviour among more people than ever because it is excused by blaming someone else!
