In this case I agree with the Mods. I was getting tired of early every second thread being one of Vanman's picture threads. It also seemed like he was intentionally defying them trying to get banned. All he had to do was slow down on the posting of pics. Would it really have been that difficult for him?

It's not the server that's the problem. The software is not designed to handle too many images. PERB's server is quite adequate.
btw: I am sure it would be quite easy for VM to set up his own site to swap photos. That would be more productive than me buying more server memory to accommodate his needs.

i think you should remove this post. this is quite mean spirited. from my few dealings with fred, he is a pretty good guy. it is naive of you to think you would spend the money and time to start a new board. fred has given a very valid reason for banning vman. i just don't understand why vman did not listen to fred in the first place. it is a thankless job being a mod.

I miss VMan already...Mods are always fair and this ban was fair, but Lounge won't be the same without VMan.....

It's a very well deserved suspension He was asked nicely to stop clogging up the forums with images from other websites. He did not change his ways, so infact he deserves to be permabanned. The site was loading so slow the other night I spent 2 hours + trimming some of his images from the board. I did not appreciate that.

Old VM already has his own website, with a very familiar name I might add. He knew exactly what he was doing by cluttering up Perb. While it all seemed innocent for some, there was a calculated madness in his method... His white knights know where to find him. Nice avatar Fred!

I'm wondering what website your are refering to. Maybe i got left out of the loop on that one. I can assure you that VM wasn't trying to be malicous in his posting of images. VM is very knowledgeable about these types of forums and is convinced that posting images doesn't take up bandwidth. FZ on the other hands says its not about bandwidth or servers but a software issue. I'm on the fence as to whos correct or not and i guess it doesn't really matter. Its FZ board and if he doesn't want to many images posted than thats it.

I don't feel there is any harm in mentioning with all he hoopla VM has set up a new website for pics etc. www.notonlypics.com The official launch date is May 1 st but you can check it out now.

To the best of my knowledge this is not a review site but an area for viewing pictures and videos and discussion. Everyone is welcome to check it out.

I was not implying malice, but when someone is asked politely not to do something on one's own playground, then what does that tell you?

For me anyway, it means he was either being childish, or he was doing it for an ulterior reason. Either way, you get spanked!

Don't get me wrong, you can do with your site as you see fit and anybody who calls you a Nazi Bastard is under the delusion that PERB is somehow publically owned and that us Perbites are somehow entitled to the service.

I only make my comment from a customer service perspective. Mav's posts, looked at from the perspective of a user at their computer, only take about 3 square inches, no more than any other post, unless you choose to open them.

Many of us found his posts quite entertaining - they certainly received a lot of hits. This would have the effect of increasing traffic to your site. Given that you earn revenue from advertising, you should welcome anything that increases traffic to your site as it will result in more revenue dollars.
