Anyone here in this industry?
I am an actor as a hobby, but I also am an accountant by day. Considering getting into this industry as I enjoy pooning and just realized I have an 8 inch member and how rare it is.

I used to be in body building and my partner is a holistic nutricionist (sp?), so I know a lot about how to take care of myself.

Anyone have any advice? if so it'll be greatly appreciated! Really interested in doing this as a side job/hobby.

1. You can't "hobby" it. It's a serious commitment. You need headshots, body shots, wardrobe, physique, medication - All of which cost time and $.

2. Friends who work as porn actors do NOT think it's fun (I do independent (non adult) film and TV outside of my civil service day job). Is it pleasurable? At times. But awkward positions, physical demands, and long shooting hours often suck the enjoyment out of it.

3. Gay porn actors make a LOT more than straight porn. A lot of actors do bi work specifically for multiple opportunities.

4. There are several agencies in town. You need to hunt them down. An agent representation will find you more work, but will not help you get started if you aren't making friends.

5. Make sure you really want to do this. If being recognized by people around you is a concern, do NOT pursue this.

6. Work on a few free independent films around Vancouver as a volunteer or PA for a few days to learn set-etiquette (if it's not already a familiar environment for you). Know the linguo, jargon, camera work, lighting dynamics. It'll make you more employable.

7. Stay healthy. STD tests EVERY two weeks.

8. Size matters less than you think - When the actress is 5', even a 6" will look massive. Sometimes, large members have a harder time finding work because smaller actresses can't handle it.

Re #2, I remember seeing a porn industry documentary where a guy at an audition was told to jerk it and cum on cue in front of the interviewers. He balked that he couldn't just do that on command in a cold unsexy business-like environment with everyone staring at him, but that's basically what the job demands. It's not just getting paid to have sex with hot women. There are technical demands on performance.

if a director has the choice between a hobbyist and someone who is qualified they will chose the latter .. it's why you see the same 4-5 guys all the time


With that being said you can still have a lucrative business there is an entire genre called "amateur" and I actually prefer it over the professional scenes

Try that out first , sort of a "do it yourself" type of thing and that way you will have a business card as well

so, i would like to offer a little warning....

some "porn" companies will tell you that you need a "portfolio" and charge you about $1500 to make it for you.

it is a scam, they do nothing for you and do not help you to find work as an adult film workers.

be careful and be wary of anyone asking you for money to "introduce you to the industry"

I must say, I do appreciate coming across this thread. I have had great deal of struggles between deciding to be a pornstar or the career I am currently being educated for. Societal judgments can be a biggy and more than one career has been destroyed due to a play in the adult industry. There is, however, a company that got in touch with me a bit ago that does allow masked shoots, I would be happy to share that link.

So in the end I decided to make profiles to all the main porntub sites, post what I want, when I want, with who I want. Will I ever make millions on it, big fat no, I think I am up to $0.60 lol. Do I get to feel like a pornstar and have fun, heck ya lol.

To the OP you might want to call Vancouver customs and get some info, they do shoots for private collectors at the studio (yes contract included)

Yes. Professionals are struggling but this has given rise to "crowd sourced' type of porn with lots of amateur and indie producers.

If you're really interested and have the accountant brain, consider doing it on your own rather than just being a "stunt cock". Come up with a tight niche that interests you, build a website, hire some porn girls yourself, film pov, give away some clips on pornhub et . Might pay for your hobby at least if you do it right.
