Ya fuck it!!!!!   These assholes shouldn't of been they're to begin with if it wasn't for Loungo!!
This game was probably the worst I've seen them play. they deserved to lose IMO.
I hope this makes NONIS realize that the canucks are in desperate need of offense and I hope some get kicked out of here! Let's some players that can score. As far as I'm concerned the only player who showed up in this series is Loungo!! I feel sorry for him!!

This team is bloody joke!!!!

Ya it's too bad a lapse in judgement by Loungo will be what we're all talking about tomorrow.

The Canucks didn't deserve to win, so its best they didn't lose on home ice.

As for what's next? Need Scoring Scoring Scoring!!!

Curse of Cloutier lives...

No doubt that Luongo was the Most Outstanding player in this series. A one man show. He deserves so much more for his efforts and his heart. I feel terrible for him.

Who will be gone? Naslund? Morrison? Twins? I still feel like the Twins are the heart and soul. Would be a mistake to let them go IMO.

Morrison? Definitely.
Smolinski? See ya...
Brent Sopel? Hopefully ("The Pylon" made Dana Murzyn look good.)
Naslund? Probably... Or the "C" will move to another player. Mitchell perhaps?
Kessler? Who knows.
Linden? God I hope not.
Bulis? He played for the Canucks?

NO keep the twins and let all else go up front. I mean the money makers and the non producers! I'm actually on the fence with SALO too.....meaning that he's an injury prone player. I'm tired of players like these.

feel for Hansen ... cheap elbow to the head, loses puck and
while Luongo is signalling for a penalty the puck goes by him ...

what a shitty way to end a season.

Luongo was fantastic ... so was Saborin for 3 1/2 minutes of
fucking terror ... the shitheads couldn't even clear the puck
out of their own end for the guy ...

should fire everyone except Luongo and Saborin ...

uh...Edmonton.
see ya Nucks....have seen it here....and, after all, it's only a game. A game with a minimum wage of $450,000....I love that.

I think people should be able to negotiate what they feel they deserve....and they are the best at what they do. So...pay em.

Go Oilers Go.

They performed better than anyone expected at the outset of the year. I'm personally proud of the effort the team displayed this year, even if this last series wasn't the greatest. Looking forward to next year.

Nothing cause the nucks will continue selling out. Nonis will just sit on his big ass and do squat
i could understand that under the old ownership but with new
ownership and the salary cap, there should be more incentive
to do something ...

Nonis got rid of Buttoozi and brought in Luongo which made the
whole Canucks season up to now.

Nonis brought in Smolinski and got rid of Chouinard ...

he can make a few more moves yet ...

i think many teams will be changing players this summer.

we have
good management
good coach
great goal tenders (the best)
3-4 good D men
Sedins are and will always be 2nd.line bobsey twins
everyone else can fuk off!!!
Good point. Your' saying basically what I'm saying too.
Well.....one thing for sure people......we all agree and are saying the same thing.
And that is Luongo is the best and the rest can take a hike---the money makers who didn't show up that is---get rid of them. There are some hard workers though that we should and will keep.

What the hell happens now?

Well....Nonis trades Luongo to Calgary as a back-up to Kipper, take Naslund out back and shoot him(cheapest way to get rid of him), trade the twins( or are they gone already, never saw them in the play-offs), and build another mediocre team around Morrison.

The only player I feel bad for is Roberto "MVP" Luongo. Game 5 was do or die yet they came out flat and with no jump. They hung Roberto out to dry and if it wasnt for him the score would have easily been 10-0.

Roberto was the only one with competitive spirit. I dont feel bad for the rest of the team. IMO...they need to make some serious off season changes.

Here are a few who should be tangled for trade bait...Morrison , Naslund , Ohlund , Sopel and Smolinski.

Honestly they did better than anyone expected and in the end what ailed them all year, killed them. No offence and no strong leadership.

They let Luongo make 56 saves while Giguere made 26, that's a whole games worth of shots. That is embarrassing.

Also the only goal in a "do or die game" came from Burrows.

Meanwhile. Luongo and Vingualt will have a long relationship from this day forward.

Nonis is by no means done shaping this team. Alain eluded to it in the press conference. "We are going to build a team around Louie".

I believe Nonis has the balls to make the big decisions. He learned from Burke and if you don't think he is smart look at the Ducks.

1) Shame on those of you who are railing on the team. *NO ONE* really expected the Cnaucks to have a chance of making the post season and they got to the second round. OK, a moral victory perhaps, but consider what we all thought about the team in October. So take your bandwagon jumping negativity and shove off.

2) After the number of saves Louie made that game (not to mention all frigging year) I'm not going to villify him for ONE mental lapse. Yes, it was ill-timed, but he's only human and I think he's earned at least one error in judgement with his performance.

3) Trade Naslund to where and for what? He's not worth anything on the trade market because he's been underperforming AND he's got a no-trade clause. Yes, I know Nazzy could waive the NTC, but I doubt he would since he knows he hasn't been performing to his usual standard. I think the Nucks keep Naslund and the C on his jersey until Nazzy says otherwise. To do anything else would destryoy whatever confidence he has left. And those of you who remember the whole Messier taking over the captaincy fiasco know that being a leader is more than just having a letter sewn on the front of your jersey.

4) The twins...ah yes. I think the most defining moment about the twins' play was when one of them had the opportunity, from the side of the net no less, to bury the puck in an open net...and he passed it into the low slot right to the goaltender. I don't remember if it was in the first or second round that this happened but it clearly shows that the twins are wired to pass.

As much as one wants to stick with what's been successful it's time for the coaching staff to open the twins' eyes to the benefits of getting pucks on net more often. I, like pretty much everyone else, am tired of watching the endless cycle and attempts at pretty passes ending up as a turnover instead of a shot on goal for the canucks.

5) The Canucks defense is actually not as bad as everyone makes it out to be...but it could be better. Ohlund and Salo, at times, didn't seem to work as hard as I'm normally accustomed to seeing them work on a nightly basis. But, I'm willing to write it off to Coach V's defensive "system" and how he wants them to play it...for now.

Bieksa has a pretty decent up-side but he needs to mature a little more. Give him a couple of more seasons and he's going to be one hell of a defenseman. Krajichek looks not bad, and he did improve his game in the playoffs but is he top-4 material? Again, a little bit of time will tell.

Sopel. Oi. I couldn't believe they brought Give-away-Sopel back again. I don't know that there's any other Canuck that's been guilty of as many defensive end giveaways and bad passes across/up the middle than Sopel.

BUT Sopes has gotten better (marginally) and he's a known quantity in terms of chemistry with the team. I think the chemistry aspect (coupled with the pretty slim pickings at the deadline and the salary cap) is why Nonis brought him back. There are several guys the organization brought in for this seasons that have dropped off the face of the earth because they just didn't mesh with the team.

6) Forward lines that can score and a 4th line with size and grit. As much as I love the amount of energy that Matt Cooke can generate we needs some size (as well as Cooke's grit and pain-in-the-ass factor). I don't think anyone on the Anaheim bench was under 6ft. Who did we call up from the Moose? Brandon Reid.

Don't get me wrong, I love guys like Reid, Cooke, Martin St. Louis, and in the old days, Cliff Ronning. Guys that make the NHL in spite of the fact that they were told that they're too small to play the game. But the fact of the matter is that you NEED some size on your team and the Canucks have none to speak of.

7) Overly predictable offensive plays. If the fans can predict the play then other teams with the benefit of scouts and video analysis can as well. 'Nuff said.

8) Linden? Stays as long as he wants to. He's always always ALWAYS been a clutch player and always been a performer in the playoffs. AND he's been taking pay cuts for the last 3 seasons. at $600,000 per, Linden's a downright bargain. He's given so much to the city and the organization over the years that he's earned that priviledge. Also with the Aquinli brothers being from Vancouver I'd be willing to bet that they understand Linden's value.

9) As for the rest of the team:
Smolinski - numbered days. Brought in to spark Naslund, he's just been too off and on over the season.
Hansen - I hope this kid gets an invite to training camp. He's been all over the ice and definitely made an impact. Too bad he couldn't bury the chances he's had. But neither could the players with seven figure salaries.
Kesler - Hopefully he stays well enough next season to earn the 1.5 mil he's getting paid. Oh yeah, thanks Bobby Clarke...you asshole.
Morrison - Better this year than last, but still needs to elevate his game.
Burrows - Kind of like another Matt Cooke but somewhat less effective.
Santala - a disappointment to say the least. Move him.
Cowan - like the team as a whole, exceded expectations. Keep him for next season. Hopefully his knee won't be an issue.
Pyatt - He's the most size we seem to have right now. Needs to develop a bad attitude on the ice and get into the "dirty" areas and be a PITA in front of the opposition's net.
Bulis - Not sure why coach V like him so much. Plays better without the puck than with.
Green - I forgot all about him until they brought him back against Anaheim. Even then I had to look him up on the Nucks' site because i don't know anything about him. To me, largely invisible in the games he was in.

1) Shame on those of you
agree with most of what you wrote so won't debate the little things:

1. the 'system' ... works to a point ... but Anaheim proved a bigger,
faster, tougher team can beat it ... I gave the nucks to game 6 and
considering over-time, Luongo got them there.

needs to change ... fine for the regular season to dump and chase and
cycle but Alain needs to work on shots on goal ... even garbage goals
count so the team should practice, practice, practice shooting in the
net ...

2. size: yup ... and if pyatt gains some he could be an impact player,
maybe not a top-10, but definitely a guy who can stay in front of the
net and pop some garbage in. Giguire never saw a Canucks ass up close
the whole series ... Luong got a tan from the Anaheim shit fumes!!!!

3. play Sabourin: don't care how good Luongo is, you don't play that
much that often ... he did prove he has the right stuff, but now needs
to let the rest of the team carry some weight.

I think the goaltender controversy officially died in Vancouver this season.

Bottom line is that its unfortunate that some idiot named Brian Burke
signed Naslund to that stupid deal for so much money and such a long
time ... Naslund is just there for the money. He knows it, the team knows
it and the fans know it ... just wonder if there is any way to dump
the asswipe.

Great posts LowerMainlander and LonelyGhost, you both have made excellent observations. Also, I have to agree with Ropey's comments regarding the injuries. If Cooke, Kesler, Bieksa and Salo had been healthy thoughout the playoffs, I think we would still be playing.

It WILL be interesting to see what moves Nonnis makes over the summer, however, I think most of the core players will be back next year and only superficial changes will be made.
