Have to give a massive shout-out to all who serve in law enforcement around the globe, but in particular to the members of Saanich and VicPD who put their lives on the line
on a daily basis to keep our communities safe, not knowing when they go to work if they'll be coming home that night. Our thoughts and continued support.

Compared to the 19 gutless cops at the school shooting in Texas where (only a good guy with a gun will stop a bad guy with a gun, NOT) the Saanich police charged right in there and 6 paid the price. Hope all have a full recovery , they did their jobs to the best of their ability.

If I recall the story correctly, the problem was not "19 gutless cops" but their superior who was responsible for the decision.

I think there are a lot of ‘Kokomo’ cops out there…

…We get there fast, and then we’ll take it slow.

Valour and Control elicit very different responses in an crazy situation.

Yes the Saanich incident is a good example of how suddenly violent crimes can occur. Who would have expected it in such a nice place?
Props to those who dealt with it quickly before any more people got hurt - it could have been much worse.

As for the perps: they got what they deserved. Period.

I have been trying to understand why this all went down. Here you had fully armed and armoured perps with explosives in their vehicle, trying to rob a bank. In June of 2022, when the cash in the bank will be not insignificant but it can't be worth their full on effort. Can it? You know, credit cards, online transfers, cashless society and so on and on. So far nothing has been published indicating a high value something in that bank.
At any rate, two fuckheads less on the earth and I sincerely hope the hero cops who laid their lives on the line will be ok.

That was their own heat bag car (white 92 Camry with black racing stripes)they drove down with. They were armed and kitted out with the same gear from the one brother’s insta so yeah, looks like there probably was no big score or intricate plan. My read on this is they were naïve/dumb enough to think they could walk into that bank, blow something up and walk out unscathed with a fortune. If they wanted to kill innocents and or police they could have done a lot worse with what they had.
I’d like to hope the example of these two might deter future wannabe bank robbers/terrorists but I’m afraid it likely won’t.Those two teens from Port Alberni who seemingly killed solely to steal their victims vehicles, 2 years ago, come to mind.

The local police were extremely lucky to have the Victoria Response team so close by.
2 dead vs 6 wounded.
I would also like to see the police cameras if they were wearing any.
Did the 2 take anything from the bank? Money amount?
Was there a connection between the two instances? 2 murders vs 2 bankrobbers?

It's not the sort of big score it used to be. All risk and too little reward. Or so "they" say.

I would like to know the motivation behind the robbery. The background of the dead bankrobbers etc.
Last thing I want is trends that are in the US, transferring to Canada.
The lady who did an interview said assault rifles.

I am assuming tactical gear means some type of body armour.
Yup. Robbery doesn't seem to be the whole story - more like they wanted the thrill of it or something. Apparently they stuck around when they could have fled the scene too - they wanted the confrontation.

Another in an ever-increasing list of terrorist acts by these kind of blokes in this country.

Played "Call Of Duty" for real; discovered there's no way to save and reload, so when you die, you die.

Lol. There's nothing worst than the police more particularly the RCMP. You might want to thank actual decent people.

Think before you criticize. You know a few rotten apples in any police force is not the whole police force. Otherwise it would be anarchy! The police usually do shift work. That is hard enough to do. 12 on, 12 off etc. Those are long days. The police are there to maintain law and order. They are an integral part of our society, helping keep us safe from the bogie man and so called criminals; until proven that the charged are guilty by a court of law.
40 years ago if you lipped off to a cop, you got wailed on; and I think rightly so. Why, because you deserved it. Unfortunately some of those cops thought that was the norm. Some went to far etc etc. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, changed alot of that. People got lipper, and they didn't get taken down a notch, but they need to be taken down for society's sake to maintain law and order... There are nicer ways to complain, then just being an asshole.

Its a fine line.... for lipping off, you might get a jaywalking ticket, or traffic ticket the next time your paths cross. Karma....

The police are human, just like you and me. They have bad days, and good day, but you expect them to have all good days, in fact you demand that they all have good days. Nobody's perfect.
No cop wants to fire their weapon, but they are trained to do so for the public and their own safety. It can be a very stressfull job, not knowing what is behind a door. etc etc etc...

The police stand in between you and anarchy. Without them, some body would of rolled you a long time ago. o_O

The police enforce laws, that may not be particularly loved by anyone, but it is the law. You break it and get caught, you will be tried in court and if found guilty, will be punished accordingly. Now do you see the pile of shit (legal actions they have to do), just to uphold the law. I have to wonder why they aren't leading the anarchy charge at times...

The police allow you to have the free run of the country and you can visit other countries, and come back. As long as you are a law abiding person.

You need to appreciate the police more; after all this is not Russia or China. There they can still beat you.....

I had to go by there at lunch time that day before I knew what happened. Holy Smokes! Police cars & cops all over the place, never seen so many!! The street, both directions, blocked off. The Victoria & Saanich police are great, very professional. Unfortunately, six cops were hurt, none died, thank God! Apperently, the 2 robbers might have had the intention of having a shoot out with the police. What happened there isn't the kind of thing you would expect to happen here. it's more of a big city thing.
