The difference is that the Democratic campaign against him is built almost entirely on lies.
How else do you get your candidate elected if you have no defense for your failed policies?
How else do you get your candidate elected if they're a fake and a fraud?
You do it by trying to smear your opponent.
You do it by gaslighting the public.
You do it by fear mongering.
"Trump is a con man, a criminal and a rapist".
"Joe Biden is the greatest President of all time".
"Trump is going to ban abortion".
"There are no illegal immigrants, they're just undocumented".
"Trump is going to ban elections and make himself king"
"Inflation is under control".
It wasn't always this way but unfortunately this is where we're at.

I think the Democrats would have a much harder time winning (and I do think they're going to win), if the Republican nominee wasn't Trump.
There are a lot of people voting Democrat.. and a lot of people voting against Trump (they perhaps don't want to vote Democrat.. but they're certainly voting against Trump)
I think at the end of this, even if you're right, and the Democrats don't have well thought out policies that are at least intended to address America's issues, it won't matter because Trump will lose. (to be clear I don't know about their policies because I really don't care, I just find it interesting)
Factors against Trump..
I think that if he hadn't gotten involved politically, he probably wouldn't be going through much of the troubles he is now, after all money is power and power can grease the wheels... but he did get involved, and when you're in politics, every crappy thing you've ever done becomes fair game.
There are well known Republicans pointing out that he's unsuited for office for a variety of reasons.. at the DNC convention no less.
He has an obvious history of nepotism, appointing family members to positions which many don't think they had any qualifications for.
He and his family visibly profited from him being in office while he was in office.
He has been convicted of felonies.. and is facing many other legal troubles, whereas all of the "face elector fraud" and "2020 election was stolen" has failed to produce any evidence whatsoever.
He has numerous bankruptcies under his belt. It's a matter of public record.
He has a history of not paying his creditors, there are entire cities where he's not welcome because he never paid his bills when campaigning there.
He lost the case against E Jean Carroll, and is on tape expressing exactly how he feels about what men in power can do to women.
He was instrumental in removing Roe V Wade.. a political hot potato if ever there was one. He was the one to pull the pin on the grenade and take credit.
There are more factors but I think that's enough.
Tell me.. Are the above incorrect? Have I misunderstood them?.. because that's what he's up against. Are these all lies?
If he cared about the Republican party he'd endorse someone else and drop out, another nominee wouldn't have all this against them and with his support would likely have a chance.... I don't see him ever doing that. (but Joe Biden did)
On the other hand...
