Every part of the J6 incident is a coup, an insurrection. It is as clear as the sun rising on the east and setting on the west. No question about it. To think otherwise is astonishing.
Your animosity towards Trump has clowded your judgment.
"Orange man bad"

A coup typically involves military units attempting to overthrow a sitting government. Generally they attack the seat of government, military command and control centers. They also try to take control of communication and transportation infrastructure. If they successfully meet these goals, the next step is to kill or imprison their opponents.

As far as insurrection goes, it is usually less well planned but often as or more violent than a coup. More organic in nature, it can involve various groups from the general population. These groups may even have conflicting goals but they are at least temporarily united in their goal of toppling the current regime.

The "insurrection", successful or not, usually results in a fair amount of death and or destruction.

None of these things happened on Jan 6

So, neither of these scenarios can be equated with the events of Jan. 6

It was unfortunate and regretable.

Not coup, not an insurrection.

Glad I could help clear that up.

Yep on January 6th 2021 10,000 people were just strolling around Washington for a healthy walk since they were not a weak bunch but decided to make room around the Capitol ground in case more of their friends would want to join them.

But since the police department was taunting them and went out their way to provoke them across fences ....so they decided to defend their right and fight back .

So to resume if you travel across a country to go for stroll on government grounds and feel provoked or taunted by police trying to keep you from going in a fenced area ; it is totally justified to attack police officers and destroy properties so that you do not look "weak" in front of your friends. No ulterior motives whatsoever ...

Actually, it all depends on how you look at it. I said coup, I did nor say military coup. No, a coup doesn't always involve the military. I guess the doj and the courts that convicted all those 100+ insurrectionist in their failed coup, in your opinion were wrong eh? Well, it's your opinion and I will respect that. But it still is a coup, no question about it.

Oh Ok! So the gallows the people put up and the chant " Hang Mike Pence", " Where are you Nancy?", were just nothing eh? So you mean you are willing to violate the law so you don't look weak in front of your friends??? Seriously eh? Those people were there to stop and delay the counting of electorial votes. They wanted to change a legitimate election and install their "king" They admitted that publicly and in courts when they were charged and convicted. 100+ of them. Trump wanted to stay in power even knowing that he lost. He summon his supporters to go fight like hell and they blindly followed him. It's an assault in the rule of law and the constitution. They all went to jail and trump is still free. These are the facts here. You can see it otherwise. It's your prerogative. I am just stating mine.

Se7landrover97 I believe you didn't get my sarcasm. I was repeating the outlandish excuses that I have heard over the last 2.5 years from people not bothered to watch the footages .

I know how to recognize the attempt of a coup when I see one ....not to worry about me .

When Drjohn mentioned that an insurrection needs the military to be called as such he has not done enough research or he's unaware of different revolutions that succeeded without the military. When successful an insurrection is called a revolution for those that come on top and when unsuccessful or quashed it's an insurrection in the eyes of the population.

I was responding to that more than anything else with sarcasm i.e. the Cape Cobra Snake oil salesman pitch at the bottom of my post ....which is a very venomous snake that will cannibalise each other...( If IQ improvements there is )

I think you mean "drivel"

Dribble is when you bounce a basketball.

Happy to help.
No dribble - as in what leaked from some orifice ...
You are most welcome for the clarification.

The real deranged people are the ones who have been convinced Trump is the devil incarnate, and the people who attended the rally wanted to overthrow the government. Probably a few hard right fringe players may have, but nothing was organized, or remotely capable of achieving any such thing. Democrat functionaries, and a pliable press have you sure it was a coup attempt, however.

"...as many as 120,000—would show up on the Mall on January 6, according to classified numbers still not released by the Secret Service and the FBI but seen by Newsweek. But there is still not an official estimate, nor have any of the Congressional committees or task forces offered a number. Nor is there a clear number of how many people actually entered the Capitol, or tried to get in."

So, out of 120,000 people, a few hunderd unarmed hot-heads clashed with police who weren't deployed in sufficient numbers, a few thousand more entered buildings on an almost guided tour to take selfies, and 100 have been convicted of something - not necessarily violent acts.

So, when "mostly peaceful" BLM riots occurred, that actually killed people, caused millions of dollars in damage and looting, did you all jump to the conclusion those people represented all the BLM demonstrators?

I may be wrong, but I don't think anyone charged on Jan 6 was in possession of weapons. If any were, it was things like flag poles and sign handles. I think some had zap straps, but weren't used. No guns, no knives, no machetes, no M16's, no bombs, no garrotes, no armoured vehicles, no tear gas.

Keep things in perspective, and don't go all tribal and listen to only what your clan wants to hear to reinforce already-set beliefs.

Not taking into account or even mentioning the 5 people died a result of "the guided tour taking selfies" Including a couple of police.

Who where these 5 people?

I do know that a woman who was trying to enter the Capital building was shot and killed by security. Ashley Babbitt.

I believe the two of the rioters died of a heart attack and drug overdose respectively.

Police officer Brian Sicknick had a stroke during the riot and died the next day.

So, no, a couple of police did not die as a result of the riot.

No Harm, No Foul? In one of Trump's filling in NY recently, he said he done no wrong in inflating his assets to get favourable rates from banks and that all loans were paid and that the banks love them. No Harm, No Foul. But he also deflated his assets to get lower rate for govt and business taxes. Still No Harm, No Foul? 🤦‍♂️

Trump has only stated that he will be an autocratic dictator for one day! Nothing to worry about!

if its really important... he might decide to be an autocratic dictator for another day. but i'm sure it would have to be really important!

Four police officers committed suicide after the riot. Hundreds or thousands of lives on both sides have been ruined as a result of a riot instigated by a President of the United States.

The instigator should be hanged.
The damage he has done to democracy and the rule of law, and the lives he has affected, hanging would be too easy imo. He should be sent to prison for years and years just like all his foot soldiers and followers that storm the capitol.
