Trump has to worry about an expansionist Russia and China. One thing the USA is the free movement of shipping (at least for its vessels). The Red Sea, the Malacca Strait, the South China Sea, will be at risk. Cutting military budgets will not be a good thing for the USA.
The problem will be how many US companies will sell tech to Russia and China that will hurt the USA in the future.
As for the USA leaving NATO, the countries that have American bases could ask them to leave.
The people that don't like the USA and have nuclear weapons are North Korea, China and Russia. So backing down from these countries is a sign of weakness. Congress (Republican) will have to reign Trump in if he gets too buddy buddy with these countries. As much as he says he will end this, do that and these countries will respond, we will end up in nuclear war.
As much as Trump thinks he has nuclear weapons they are more than 20 years old (same with their delivery systems), so new ballistic missiles will be needed.

My paranoia that we're witnessing the fall of the US in real time has just shot up. Armies of lawless people who can just be pardoned if their side wins in a tit for tat spiral every election cycle.

I would love to see a massive overhaul of the legal system! Mmmmm, juicy. I don’t embrace a justice system where a judge rules at the local level, it gets overturned at the state level, then gets overturned again by the Supreme court.

How the hell are people supposed to figure out what’s right and wrong if the courts can’t even agree? I understand how we got here, but the system is broken and the lawyers get rich by pitting citizens and governments against each other.
