Dos Santos vs. Velasquez for the heavyweight title.

This will be the only live fight in the whole hour. They could have gotten two fights in even if they both went the distance, 15 min and 25 min equals 40, so they would get their 20 min of commercials but apparently dana feels he's going to be getting a whole pile of first time viewers and wants to spend all the extra time "educating" them. personally i think this is a mistake. anyone that tunes in will have an idea of what mma is and will not need to be educated. As well odds are the one fight will not last very long. Someone will be getting knocked out early. Goal is to maintain viewership for the whole hour, not just the 3 minutes the fight is on. A second fight with a banger like Clay Guida or someone along that lines would have been a better idea.

They will probably have 15 minutes devoted to each fighter, makes it easier for people to relate and become fans for first time viewers.

Should be a good fight...only problem with Heavy weight...it doesn't show all the aspects of MMA to new viewers. The small the fighters, the more tricks in the bag...

That being sad, these are easily the top 2 heavy weights. Lesnar, Carwin, and Mir aren't in the same league as these 2...

Let's just be thankful it isn't another boring GSP fight...

Good investment by FOX on the UFC. Plus, with the $ 750 Million network deal, the value of the UFC goes up even more. Valuations will probably be a BILLION. Not bad for the boys who bought it for only $ 2 Million in 2001. With the NFL and MLB under its wings, FOX needs to further solidify the 18-34 male viewer market so the reason for the deal.
