Agreed. Reddit is quite strict. I personally feel like because I have twitter blue that may be in my favour but I also try to avoid controversial or political conversation on socials, for me those are in person conversations and debates. I do notice some of the accounts being shadow banned either probably dont pay for twitter or they do engage in some controversial topics… not saying thats the specific reason why this may be happening but it could be a possibility? None the less I personally wouldn’t mind going back to looking in the newspaper when im window shopping for something.
🤭😅The way I see it is the internet itself is broken. Sometimes what seems good for us, useful to us, beneficial to humanity, really isnt…

Twitter has always had revenue shortfalls. It was famous for not making money. Facebook has their Marketplace, maybe Musk will try something similar, or an Ebay rival.

I'm hoping more SWers who move to other platforms leave links on their Twitter accounts while they still can. I started an account on Mastodon, but I've only found one SW from my Twitter list over there so far.

My account was locked for 12 hours for mentioning the word escort in my tweet! It claimed I was selling sexual services. Escort doesn’t just mean sex worker either!

At the end of the day Twitter is a service it has new management so like with anything you must follow the new management rules.
Or move to a different platform the old ways cannot be used as any type of standard

that’s like leaving one person going to the next expecting them to do the same as the last person

look at the policies and see how they can be advantageous for you as a SW as well as what things can possibly be harmful for your profile.

I’m sure there’s a work around and maybe walking as quietly as possible is a good idea.

I read on some tech blogs that Twitter would ban OF posting aswell as similar to this board if your website isn’t a paid advertiser anything regarding it can be penalized towards the person posting it , they have it in their current policy somewhere to the wording may be different though.

Twitter isn't the only platform that is censoring words. Its part of the liberal ( Trudeau ) censoring agenda Bill C-11 --- what a surprise, eh? I'm not.

Anyway, Yahoo financial forum now has censorship placed in. I'm quite sure there are more platforms that now include this but, Yahoo is one I interact in on. Facebook is also censored too in a very big way. I know several pals who got suspended on Facebook for counter acting their policies. The new norm, they say. Get use to it. It'll only get worse imo.

Twitter is going to crash into the ground hard and leave a crater.

That could happen....but where you go? And would it be as popular?

There is Parler, a 'conservative' version of Twitter. And even though it's had a nominal amount of success, no one takes the platform seriously enough to consider it as the worldwide town square vernacular that Twitter is. Someone mentions Parler, and they'll immediately label is as a full of Right wing religious gun nuts....fair enough.

Then the adage gets thrown back in the other side's face, "make your own platform" lol, remember? Would anyone take that service seriously? Could "the LEFT" handle such a failure that it couldn't overthrow Twitter, or even Parler?

Also consider that Musk has been purging a lot of dumby troll accounts meant to bolster follower numbers on accounts that favor a certain left wing policies. Already certain promenant Twitter profiles have been disfranchised, wondering where their followers went. "because they weren't real to begin with".

So will Twitter crash and burn? It's a lovely thought for those who have something to lose now in a cathartic schadenfreude kind of way. But that assumption weighs less than still believing there's enough people in "your camp of thought, against Musk's Twitter Takeover"

For me, its a big "we'll see"...

Or the real truth of Twitter demographics come to light, and I'll still be happy enough to start using it.

Fun fact, MSNBC failed in their temper tantrum over this whole thing, saying the whole news outlet is quitting the platform.... and like two days later they were back on, LOL.

EDIT: I just realized there was a left-leaning Twitter alternative called “Mastodon”. And it failed literally because every account was getting striked and banned for frivolous snowflake reasons. A digital community that “eat each other”, lol…

That’s already been tried and failed. Switter ring a bell? It was basically SW twitter. We had it for maybe 3 or 4 years but because of the legalities surrounding sw globally it got shut down. There is no social media platform on the internet that is 100% safe for SWs and even if a new one pops up it won’t be long before it’s shut down too.

Instagram has lots

Instagram is not SW friendly. I have my modelling account on there, and I have been flagged for nudity for posting censored artistic nudes, I mean artsy nudes or implied nudes not sexual at all and again censored. I also have an Only Fans related to my modelling, not SW, and just saying “only fans” or “link in bio” can trigger a post being flagged for solicitation. They are quite strict there. I know of other SWers who have had their Instagram accounts banned, including providers and exotic dancers.

It would be so great to have a social media platform that allowed SWers on it, maybe in an 18 and over category.
