Pence and Ryan are merely cogs in the wheel.

Bannon is the wizard behind the curtain. Watch CBC Newsworld tonight and watch the PBS Frontline program called "Bannon's War".

If you don't really know his background, this show will bring you up to speed.

Speculation.
Accusations.
Lets see the left prove these allegations in court... anyone can say any thing.
Proving it is a whole different thing.
I see it day after day.
But rumors and gossip are better to some than facts and evidence.
Otherwise shows like The View where a bunch of old women sit around table cackling wouldn't exist.
Totally agree. There was no special prosecutor appointed for Hilary despite the mountains of evidence against her, and Comey absolutely should have charged her. In those cases it was obvious what the crimes were. Here they haven't found a shred of evidence so are on a witch hunt to try to find a crime. A special prosecutor is to be engaged after someone has been charged with a crime. Not to look for one. And the special prosecutor in this case is life long best friends with Comey. Even the appearance of a conflict of interest should make him an unnacceptable choice. It is such an enormous double standard that it defies all logic. It's the overwhelming effort to deligitamize the presidency regardless of what Trump does. CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC do not report news, they manufacture it, and will do anything to harm him.

I'm no expert on the functions of the FBI, but I doubt that the director of the FBI goes around laying charges against anybody. The FBI probably just makes recommendations to prosecutors.

As to it being obvious what Clinton's crimes were, my understanding is that she acted against the policy of the State Department. She did not, so far as I understand it, commit a criminal act. Being arrogant and stupid isn't illegal.

I've never heard anything to indicate that any of the leaks of US government secrets in recent years were a result of Clinton's actions.

I am in no way a fan of Hilary Clinton. The Democrats should have been able to field a better candidate. But, I don't see it being "obvious what the crimes were".

Thoughts on the past two weeks: America not being able to put al Qaeda on their terrorist list because of how much they financially support them in Syria highlights the absurdity of it all and why Canada should withdraw from NATO (US is afraid of lawsuits). If you're America and you can't place al Qaeda on your terrorist list, then your war on terror is a sham.

Excluding Qatar for the exact thing Saudi does is hilarious. Also, giving them a shit ton of weapons after Trump threw them under the bus is incredible. Dude couldn't even wait a week.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed by Russians and the US media has barely mentioned it. Because it's all bullshit. They don't care. So much for Hillary's theory that if you kill him, like an end boss in a video game, Daesh would fall.

Thoughts on today's tire fire: Anyone who said Trump wouldn't escalate in Syria is an idiot. Anyone claiming Clinton wouldn't have, didn't listen to what she & her allies said. The moral hazard whereby Trump not killing Russians is evidence he's Putin's pocket is leading exactly where anyone with foresight could see. Now, the neo-liberal version of Fox news, MSNBC and its viewers, are in the awkward place of having to oppose a war that's the logical implication of everything they've been saying for over a year. Technically years if you review everything they said during the Obama administration.

Yah! But never underestimate this man. He was able to con his way into winning the Presidency. Besides, majority of republican will still support him coz, if you're right, Pence-Ryan gang got him by the balls and won't just allow him to be impeached.
I wouldn't say he conned his way into the Presidency, cause I truly believe that he believed he could deliver on everything he promised. As Ryan pointed out, he's new to Washington and doesn't know the protocols. In his world he spoke, it was done...in this world he speaks, and 50 other people come up with 50 interpretations of what he said for 500 other people to approve and study...etc..you know the drill. He said what a lot of people wanted to hear and now that he's in and finds he can't deliver....he's going to be telling them what they want to hear as the reasons he can't deliver. That's where the con will come in. As to Ryan and Pence.....if they can get a solid enough reason to go along with impeachment, they'll get the biggest damn Clydsdales they can find to hitch to the bandwagon. With Trump out the GOP would have the kind of President they want...Pence.

I think special prosecutors are appointed for those who are in office*, which she was not at the time of her campaign. For those who aren't, it just goes to the Attorney General and their crew. That was Loretta Lynch, and well, you know where it went from there.
[*Those who could use the power of their office to influence an investigation.]

I agree completely. Trump is not that different than Clinton in this regard - the puppet strings on him and the GOP go to the same place - to Netanyahu and to the Saudis. It's not a "fog of war" coincidence at all; it's a long-standing policy - "Deep State" stuff that any NeoCon or NeoLib follows like the holy gospel. The US does not want to "win" versus Al Qaida (now under its 4th brand name since the Syrian civil war began), not with these so called "moderate" jihadis working as allies to knock over any secular or Shiite regime in the region.

Where Trump's rhetoric does paint itself into a corner is his pronouncements regarding Russia. That comes from the "Alt" guys in his cabinet, and they have been getting whittled down by the NeoCons since the day he took office. Russia's been acting with more common sense about dealing with the actual terrorists out there - the same ones who attack us (The West).

We Canadians have been fed bullshit from the same herd though. Under Harper, we were conditioned to ignore the connections between those jihadi SOB's we fought in Afghanistan and the bigger SOB's who supported them from the Gulf monarchies. Just like the US, we've been selling their masters armaments by the billions, and denouncing their enemies as if they were our own.

It would have been nice to say things changed once Trudeau replaced Harper, but nope. We are still selling armaments to the Saudis. We are still pretending that the Syrian rebel movement is not just another iteration of Al Qaida. We are still marching into a Second Cold War with Russia. Our current foreign minister, Chrystia Freeland, is one of the most anti-Russian diplomats in the world, so don't expect any foreign policy renaissance from the Liberals.

To anyone who thinks NATO is still about defending the West, guess again. It spends more time antagonizing the very people who have the same enemies that we do. If only our own leaders could finally admit it.

Since the Russians destroyed a building and claimed al-Baghdadi was among 300 at the meeting; there was no way to prove or disprove he was actually there. A CIA comment the day following was it was not in character for al-Baghdadi to attend high profile meetings and rarely slept in the same bed two nights in a row. He is/was intentionally elusive.

It was the Russians who put out the news without any proof ie his corpse or at least his head from the remains. I think the US media are staying out of it since there is no way to show conclusive evidence.

Depends on where you sit. Pence to some degree was a sop to Ryan and the establishment Republicans. Just conservative enough to keep the tea party bunch somewhat happy and professional politician enough to keep McCain and friends from joining the Democrats. Better President, yup...not as entertaining but certainly less scary.

In a similar vein to the National Enquirer...

Alex Jones is endorsed by Trump. AJ had a show recently about kidnapped children being used as sex slaves in a secret NASA base on Mars.
NASA actually made a specific denial of the allegation a few days ago.

I was happy to see Trump win because I always think it'sgood to shake up politics and because I thought it might bring the democrats to their senses.

Instead, the Dems are stuck in attack and complain mode, with no sign someone is going to pop up as a legitimate leader/spokesperson, and Trump is proving to be under some mental disorder making him insecure and obssessed. Who gets to be 71, gets elected President of the US against all odds, but gives a shit with what some talk show hosts say? And spends so much time on such trivial pursuits?

I don't think he'll be impeached, but now believe he may suffer some breakdown like in Dr Strangelove.

Otherwise some concerned citizen will hijack a rocket ship and go shoot up the Comet Ping Pong outlet on Mars.

Lovely.

http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/2017/07/09/GOP-and-Dems-Alike-Stunned-Trump-s-Plan-Act-Putin-Cyber

This is like OJ Simpson privately heading the investigation into the murder of Nicole Brown. Or naming Al Capone as head of the FBI.

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican representing South Carolina, mocked his president's proposed cybersecurity partnership in a weekend interview with NBC's "Meet the Press."

"It's not the dumbest idea I've ever heard, but it's pretty close," Graham said.
