Travelling to Mexico, Recommendations?

Hi all,

As you can see in the title, I am travelling to Mexico in two weeks (Playa Del Carmen).

I'd love to scope out the scene down there but because I don't speak the language, am having a difficult time getting proper research.

Anyone here have experience/resources down south that they don't mind sharing with a newbie like me?

Any tricks/tips greatly appreciated, have a wonderful day y'all!

First recommendation, post in the correct forum, not the lounge. I moved this one but future posts may simply be deleted.

Second, use the search function, Mexico has been discussed a few times in the past 6 months or so.

Third, be careful down there, there are shootings at tourist hotels in the past month and corrupt cops all over the place. Might suggest finding someone you really like here and taking her with you on vacation!
