Traditional ads vs. Social media

When looking for companions, do you use social media (Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) in your search? Why or why not?

I use Twitter, and as an SP I think it has some big advantages, which I and others have previously discussed in this forum:

- less likelihood of fake photos and fake SPs

- new pictures almost daily, and most are recent

- you can gage the SP's personality

- you can develop a bit of a relationship online before meeting in real life

- you don't need an account to browse a lady's profile

- but if you do have an account, you can discover lots of new SPs, as Twitter's algorithms will suggest new ladies to you based on the ones you already follow (I've met lots of great ladies this way)

And yet I still find there's some hesitation among a large segment of PERB members to use Twitter as a tool in discovering new ladies. Why is that?

I use Twitter to follow Eastern based SP's who indicate a Vancouver tour may be happening in the future. I often engage them on Twitter DM to discuss references etc so all that's required is booking the Vancouver date.

The platform is useful for a preliminary decision about wanting to see them or not.

I find Twitter to be a useful tool when trying to get an idea of what the provider is like personality wise. If I follow someone long enough I start to get a sense of the providers demeanor and personality. It's not fool proof but helpful.

I love Twitter for all of the above reasons. It has made it so much easier when I have travelled to either Toronto or Vancouver to connect with quality providers, making our first encounters that much more special as we have already gotten a good feel for each other -- figured out each others likes and dislikes, turn-ons and turn-offs -- so that once we meet at the door, it's like reconnecting with an old friend (or lover, or both!). For someone who lives in an area where quality providers are as scarce as the summer rains, it has been a godsend.

I did create Twitter account(s), one as real me and one for pooning. I rarely used them after first few days. Same with Instagram.

I prefer Leolist ads and PERB reviews. It works, ......... most of the time. :)

I like my privacy too much.
I agree on this.

Social Media in relation to this hobby, does at times reduces a client's ability to keep their discretion. I'm sure single-pooner don't have to worry about themselves in this way, but the attached ones do.

This appeals to me for that function, but sometimes (depending on what social media outlet you use) requires some form of verification to validate your account. Sometimes requiring full-faced photos, and I can imagine too that there will be SPs who'll want to see the person willing to pay for their craft too, to protect themselves, which again turns back to the client to reveal themselves.

I find that Twitter has been a very valuable tool as it gives you much more of a look into the SP's personality than just reading an ad on LL or other posting sites. There have been situations where I haven't necessarily been interested in booking with a certain SP, but after following along with their social media, find myself very interested as I enjoy their sense of humour, confidence or other personality attributes that come through via social media. On the other hand there have been SP's who I was very interested in that I then was turned off of by the nature of what they are like on social media. It has it's positives and negatives just like anything else.

I do not ever book through social media as I prefer to do so via email or through text on my hobby phone.

right here and now
No interest in becoming a Twit.
As noted earlier by others- I value my privacy.
Also- seeing SPs is not my life- it is merely a sideline. I don't need to be so completely engaged. I've been around the block and understand how to communicate more than well enough to achieve my goals and establish a relationship without excessive social media.
I've met some wonderful SPs through PERB that I interact with through PM and on a lesser level email and text. That's good enough for me- and apparently for them as well.

After a bit of thinking, I decided to add to my comment... and as some others have pointed out, I just need to look at her ad, not follow her around all the time.

Once I have seen an SP, I will repeat if she is good, not because she added photos of her pussy (cat) or what she had for lunch.

Same thing in the scenario where I am not going to repeat someone, looking at shot of her feet as she walks on the beach is not going to change my mind.

Seriously, who has time for this!!

Ok, I have a few questions in regards to Twitter:

1) If I follow someone on twitter, can anyone else that does not also follow that person on twitter see that I do so?

2) If I post a reply to a tweet, who sees my reply?

3) If someone Googles my name, will they possibly find 1) and/or 2) above?

As you can guess from my questions, I would prefer that my family, friends and work associates no know that I follow or respond to tweets from an SP. If that makes me a hypocrite, I can live with that :)

I use Twitter to follow ladies I’ve seen and ones I hope to see down the road. I only like or respond to tweets from ladies I’ve seen. I don’t book through twitter though, only email or text.

Jim you can make a profile without using your real full name, pics etc. You can also make it private which people who aren’t following you can’t see who you follow and followers. Only your followers will see those tweets if you are private.

Tweets or retweet about American politics can be overwhelming. Had to mute some people who over retweet that subject daily. My head hurts just reading or watching the news sometimes.

I value my privacy, so I don't have an account. I have also found it very difficult to search, since you don't really know what hastags someone is using. Maybe if I had an account it would be easier. But I'm not going that route so I'll have to rely on traditional ad's like perb and LL to find what/who I am looking for.

The only social medium I use is Facebook. I refuse to use Twitter until they cancel the account of the unindicted co-conspirator in the White House, and Instagram doesn't work on a computer, only a telephone.
