You know who you are, you moron. You are the guy in the black Beemer that went around me at the crosswalk on Renfrew this afternoon. You dodged around that woman with the stroller and the toddler because you are too important to stop for them. You looked so cool with your top down, your shades on and your cell phone jammed in your ear.

Listen to me, you loser, you are not that important that you can't stop for 10 seconds to let a mother and her child cross the street. Got it?

thats too bad to hear

I witnessed a little girl who got hit by a car when I was very young myself .. kind of the same situation going around them at a cross walk.... for all those cars that get too close to me.. I like to kick them now... ;) ok well not all of them... but the ones that nearly run me down.. I kick and I kick them hard :)

That's risky behavior. First, you're risking a beating from the kind of asshole that would slam on the brakes and do a 'road rage' thing. And second, you can be charged for assault on their property or some other such thing.

I'm no saint and have dented and broken my fair share of car windows when some asshole nearly knee-caps me. Last summer one such driver got out of his car and took a swing at me and my wife. I dropped him with my most vicious left hook and then me and the wife immediately absconded before the cops arrived.

Summer is almost here and, unfortunately these days, it is also the beginning of the bully season.

pffft, suuuuuuure blame the guy in the car.

if people walked faster when they were crossing the street we wouldn't be having this conversation. these pedestrians on the road today, think they own everything just because they have the right of way.

By BC law you only have to stop for people in a crosswalk. Jerks jaywalking are fair game.:D

its always the new canadians that think they will stop and have a conversation half way across the intersection. or step out without looking. what the fuk do think when they get out of the can over here? that they are immortal?
they know they would not last 1 hour back where they came from but look at you like ...WTF....!!!!!
turn em into road kill , i say!!!

goodlube what the fuck does a stupid pedestrian and or driver have to do with "new canadians"??

Your generalisation really makes you look like a bitter, frustraded, impotent guy who does not even have the balls to honk at people jaywalking and then comes to an internet forum to vent.

Put your money where your mouth is... I don't see you turning anything into roadkill.

Hi Dipitydoo, just ignore him. I was born here too and my observations are there are many people, not just new Canadians, who could be more diligent in their driving or crossing the street. To specifically refer to new Canadians as being problematic seems prejudicial and discriminatory, in my view.

There are many people that blame the woes of society, or perhaps their own personal shortcomings, on new Canadians. We've all heard it before - "they" come and take our jobs away, why can't "they" learn to speak the language, how come "they" do things differently than us real Canadians, who let "these people" into the country, let's send "them" back, etc. etc. Of course many of these so called 'real Canadians' (I won't even mention aboriginals were the original Canadians) fail to realize the valuable contributions immigrants have made to Canadian society and economy for decades.

In this day and age I believe the majority of people are tolerant of our new Canadians, but there will always be a segment of society that are not so enlightened. It is the latter that will demonstrate their intolerance and prejudices through discriminatory comments and actions. In many cases, however, they are only embarrassing themselves through their ignorance of how society has evolved.

Anyhow Dipitydoo, let it go. Sometimes it's not worth the bother.

Have a good one.

thanks for the spellcheck

hey goodlube, thanks for checking my spelling and I apologise for the mistake. I guess I am now destined to become roadkill because of a typo. BTW, you forgot your apostrophes and capitalizing the C on Canadians.
;)

Thanks for the suggestion duffer, you're right: sometimes it is not worth the hassle.
And just today I saw the sad and ugly result of pedestrian meets driver on Robson street. Bloody hell. It's really not worth it to ignore the rules of the road, and it pays to be patient and alert at all times. :(
