goodlube what the fuck does a stupid pedestrian and or driver have to do with "new canadians"??
Your generalisation really makes you look like a bitter, frustraded, impotent guy who does not even have the balls to honk at people jaywalking and then comes to an internet forum to vent.
Put your money where your mouth is... I don't see you turning anything into roadkill.
Hi Dipitydoo, just ignore him. I was born here too and my observations are there are many people, not just new Canadians, who could be more diligent in their driving or crossing the street. To specifically refer to new Canadians as being problematic seems prejudicial and discriminatory, in my view.
There are many people that blame the woes of society, or perhaps their own personal shortcomings, on new Canadians. We've all heard it before - "they" come and take our jobs away, why can't "they" learn to speak the language, how come "they" do things differently than us real Canadians, who let "these people" into the country, let's send "them" back, etc. etc. Of course many of these so called 'real Canadians' (I won't even mention aboriginals were the original Canadians) fail to realize the valuable contributions immigrants have made to Canadian society and economy for decades.
In this day and age I believe the majority of people are tolerant of our new Canadians, but there will always be a segment of society that are not so enlightened. It is the latter that will demonstrate their intolerance and prejudices through discriminatory comments and actions. In many cases, however, they are only embarrassing themselves through their ignorance of how society has evolved.
Anyhow Dipitydoo, let it go. Sometimes it's not worth the bother.
Have a good one.
