How can Tebow be an understudy to Payton Manning???????

They are like the polar opposites of style. Like Vick being the understudy of Elway. "Don't run so much Michael....throw it like I can"

Vick and Elway are not polar opposites whatsoever. They both love to scramble whether downfield for a gain or to buy time to pass. Vick and Marino would be polar opposites as would Tebow and Manning. My comment was more suggesting that the alleged heir apparent to Elways throne is more of an entertaining sideshow than anything else and mgmt would be more than happy for him to ride the pine while he watches a real QB like Manning take care of business.

The Broncos have 50 mil in cap room, so Peyton can bring along one or two of his friends, i say let Eddie Royal go in free agency and stick Dallas Clark in the slot - although we already have a lot of TE's. Draft D and we're back in the playoffs.

Tebow's not long for this league (higher calling) so let him go back to Florida where they REALLY love him. Can't afford to keep both long term anyway.

McDaniels was a mad trader in the draft that brought Tebow, and he didn't really cost us as much as people think, in terms of draft choices. If we package him down to Jacksonville for a bunch of 2nd and 3rd round choices everybody's happy. Just don't do anything as ridiculous as the Redskins did. Shanahan's finally gone completely nuts.

Looks like Miami is out of the running in the Manning sweepstakes. I would be shocked to see him in Tennessee or Arizona since those teams are many years away from a Super Bowl (Tennessee actually may not be too far since the main ingredient missing is a QB).

But Denver is ready to challenge for a Super Bowl pretty much immediately. I really don't see him in Arizona. Being a good ol' boy from the South, his heart may tell him Titans but his head and his Dad will probably encourage him to go with the Broncos.

Maybe the Dolphins can manage to bring their son back home and try to build a team around Tebow!

Giving up a 2nd and a 3rd pick for an inaccurate qb is lunacy. Great score by the Rams. Denver has a good D (man do I hate giving them praise for anything). But I would love to see the numbers Manning and Fitzgerald would put up (and they would in spite of the team around them - no cap room for anything after Manning either). But if Manning does go to Denver I'll be happy rooting against him again, him getting released and subsequently looking back on his career was, gack, making me kind of like him.

I laugh when you think of all the people who got on Lebrons case for making a "selfish" decision. Yes, he was a tool for making a big production out of it but even if he made his decision via twitter, he would have been vilified.
Owners make self serving decisions in the best interest of the team (their business interest) and it benefit the fans. Manning should have retired in Indianapolis but Irsay made a business decision...clean house, build for the future and avoid paying Manning the huge chunk of change that was coming due. As far as he was concerned, Manning retiring would have made for a fairy tale ending.

I hate Denver but wouldn't mind seeing Manning get another ring to put on his middle finger to salute Irsay.

This is basically what I say everytime some fan claims athletes aren't loyal when they go somewhere else in free agency. Players can get traded at any moment. Even this year Kobe Bryant had to stand up in front of the media and state that the constant trade talk about Pau Gasol was hurting the team, as Pau couldn't focus solely on basketball. Ainge, the GM for the celtics, said flat out in the media that he would trade anyone - and frankly Paul Pierce is one of those players that really should retire a Celtic, he's one of the best Celtics ever (and he did stick out the shit times with the Celtics when he could have left). James wasn't so much vilified for leaving, it was him saying nothing all year (or even letting his own team know so they could get something in trade value). Much like Dwight Howard would be hated in Orlando right now if he didn't forgo his opt out clause and pledge another year to the Magic, he created a circus that trumped what 'Melo did last year.

And what does the loyalty of an athlete get them. Just ask Steve Nash, the Suns have a cheapskate owner and a GM that thinks Nash and a bunch of wing players can win games (they lucked into Gortat), and they basically stink. He had a small window of opportunity to win a championship, and the front office basically slammed that door shut. He wont ask for a trade though. At least the Suns own fans realize whats going on and all secretly hope for him to get traded to a real team, but that'll never happen as the gm knows Nash is his only meal ticket to sell seats/merch.

The problem is with Nash not asking for a trade...or that is part of the problem. He is too worried about his nice guy image. He still has a 3 year window where he can be really useful to a contending team in need of a solid PG so we'll see what happens there.

The window I was referring to was the Suns as a team, when they had Amare and that ridiculously fast paced offense. Instead of the owner opening up his wallet he was selling off their draft picks for 75cents on the dollar. Nash still has a few good years left, think he's a FA this summer or next, hopefully he doesn't do something foolish like resign. Probably will though, just the kinda guy he is. But really Arizona can't be that bad of a place to live.

It really depends on where he goes. But wherever that is, he will struggle to even remotely come close to the success he had in Denver. I would be curious to see how aggresively he is pursued by teams in need of a QB. I think owners will see dollar signs as his notoriety will initially help the bottom line of some teams but I think most coaches will dread seeing him at their camp this summer.

Should be with Jax, they have a proven runner in Jones-Drew (fits the offense Tebow needs to be in), he's loved there, and the owner wants him. Problem being for Denver is now everybody and their dog knows they want to unload Tebow and wont offer up squat for him.

My glimmer of hope of seeing Manning in a Seahawk uniform was wishful thinking. Mind boggles if they finally get a team together. Those roadtrips home again would be much more enjoyable if they had a decent team.

Denver will be stronger IMHO with Manning.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, which has the worse attendance record in the NFL, will sell out their upcoming season the moment Tebowmania comes to Jacksonville. ;)

For the first time since Jacksonville joined the NFL, their Tebow jersey will actually become one of the league's bestsellers.

When you look at the owner of the Jaguars, you'll think Ron Jeremy has left Porn Valley and bought an NFL team. :pound:

The irony in all of this drama is nobody is talking about the hapless Colts. History has shown there are no guarantees that come with a QB taken first overall in the draft. I'll be curious to see how Luck does and the potential he shows in his first season. Cam Newton has set the bar pretty high for a 1st year QB. Good thing for Luck that Colts fans are probably a bit more tolerant of 1st year growing pains than Giants fans would be.

I really do not think much of Tebow as a QB. I think he is best suited to play a Kordell Stewart role somewhere and he can have success with that. There are plenty of teams in the league that could use him like that. As much as I don't like Tebow, there are some really terrible QBs in the league...many of them starters. Can someone tell me how Sanchez managed to sign a new deal with the Jets?!?!

Sanchez got a new deal as he's an emotionally fragile little punk who plays terrible unless he feels secure in the starters role. Manning became a FA and his name was tied to like half the league as potential suitors, Inc the Jets. The Sanchize's ego got bumped so they had to appease it with a disgusting extension. That's my take on it anyways. Some teams need to learn that you can say you have a franchise qb all you want, doesnt make it true.
