No matter how much some people hated him, he was the most gifted golfer and athlete, but he was simply awful during the PGA championship, He has been working on a new swing with Sean Foley, but it's getting worse. I think his main problem is he lost the mental toughness and discipline. He needs to be humble and to go back to his best teacher, Butch to get back to his old Tiger status. Do you think he will ever get back to win many Majors?

He is giving me hope that my game is not as bad as I previously thought :D

Nice to see he hit the forest, beach and had terrible lies.

Look what happened to Vijay after a spectacular year when he was at the top. Since then I rarely hear of him in the top 10. Duval, Weir, are just a few who have seen the top ten and then can't even make the cut.

The years of trying to be on top are very stressful both on your body and mind.

That is what makes some atheletes true super stars - on top of their game and realize when it is time to call it a game. Jordan, Gretzky and the likes of them were the greats. Played a realistic lifetime in their sport and finished at the top without embarassing themselves.

It will take him until at least next season to become competitive again.

Personally, I think he made a mistake coming back this summer, even though he shot a couple of decent rounds.

I have no sympathy for his off-course woes...you roll the dice, you accept the numbers that pop up. And the flip side of worldwide adulation and prosperity is worldwide scorn and depression. That's the deal you make when you become a celebrity, icon, and household name.

But a reminder to the haters: Tiger has 14 majors. That's more than the next dozen or so current players COMBINED. He has 71 PGA Tour wins over 13 years. It took Nicklaus, Palmer, Watson, Hogan, etc. over two decades to amass that many. He single-handedly catapulted a fringe sport with moderate mainstream appeal into the stratosphere, bringing along every golfer, pro, equipment company, and golf course owner along for the very lucrative ride. That cannot, and should not, be ignored.

Guys I don't think this is really that complicated.

Before scandal: good.
After scandal: bad.

I don't buy the injury excuse. He needs to take a couple years off and get his head right. Of course that it easier said then done and he might in fact be finished. On a side note I would love to see a Canadian golfer rise to the top.

Personally I think Tiger fucked up by getting married....he knew he was going to cheat on Elin right off the bat...she is a hot woman but the guy has the appetite....he was an idiot for getting married....lets see...he was a young athletic superstar golfer who was the worlds first pro sport billionaire....he could pretty much bag any gal that tickled his fancy do to his fame/money....so fucking stupid to get married just for the public image of the "family man".

Will he win majors again....yes he will...I firmly believe that he will shatter the record and raise the bar to 24 majors.

I think he made a bad decision in breaking with Butch as a swing coach...if it aint broke dont fix it and I think he made an even bigger mistake by dropping Steve by the wayside...his caddy was completely loyal and damn good at what he did....a few years back a photographer took a loud picture in Tigers backswing and it pissed him off....he told Steve to "take that camera and throw it in the water hazzard"....Steve did just that....he ripped away the camera and chucked it in the water.....he got fined and Tiger paid the fine as he told Steve to do it....also you never heard a peep out of Steve when the shit hit the fan about Tiger's affairs....and if there was anybody in the know it was him....he said nothing....that is loyalty.

This is only tigers 2nd tourny since the major injury or operation? People are so use to his standard of being in contention that overreact if he doesnt make the cut. Seen him on tv and he looks like he's still the best shape golfer on tour. He has to get over the mental stuff and get back to banging whores n be in another serious relationship.

Well the major reason Tiger was winning is because he was getting laid A FEW TIME A DAY and for some reason cheating on his wife gave him an edge that he now has lost .. The same thing works for successful business people . They need to live on the edge when they get caught and humiliated then they lose it

I disagree GA....Vijay had a very good stint near the top and is one of the top winners in the history of golf. He also went on a great run in his 40's. Duval (Vertigo) and Weir(wrist and elbow) both ran into health issues and don't forget, Tiger has also had many knee surgeries. Part of staying on top is staying healthy. All above ran into medical issues, even Vijay.
I agree with you 100%. When I said mental and physical I was taking into consideration the long haul and the wear and tear on the body too. The lucky ones (and not all luck) stay healthy and rise to the top with great skills combined over the longest period of time, making them seem untouchable.
