its true, i have supported lots of men through the years who have been unfairly treated or experienced discrimination.
look at the way men's bodies are used in advertising....would a group of men oogling a female delivery girl who was scantily clad and drenched in sweat be acceptable in a coke commercial? no the feminazi's would be up in arms. but its perfectly ok for females to do this to a male delivery person? or how about the old spice commercial? talk about wrapping up all of the stereo types into one....
and in lysol commercials, its always a dirty boy infecting a pure clean little girl....
what the hell kind of message is that?
This is a perfect term to describe most feminists these days. I Have always believed that feminism is not about more equity for women and other marginalized peoples at it claims, but rather for woman to become the dominant gender. Any Ism believes that whatever the prefix is should be the dominant ideology in society. Eg Communism
Just addressing this point. Men are being objectified in advertising....but you don't see hoards of men lobbying their government crying out that it's degrading and that we shouldn't be just pieces of meat. Partially because we men don't give a shit....and partially because society would think once we complain, that we're not being tough enough to stand a bit of advertising. Same deal as guys getting raped. There's a double standard.
This is true because guys are less concerned with what others think of them than women are. But as Susi mentioned before, it is not a level playing field. I have no issue with men being objectified as long as women can be in the same manner. My other favourite double Standards is women's only gyms and fitness clubs. If men tried to do that, it would be discriminatory. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Ahhhhh, a match made in heaven. :cheer2:
Should the two of you end up dating, I would like to offer my services to judge which one of you is more capable of greater indignation.
For those who wish to place wager, my money is on Bijou as she can always play the “Woman” card that normisanas can not.
According to normisanas' own logic, as the playing field is not level to begin with, he can not protest the inequity of the move.
My LOL of the day!!!! It would almost be like when Harry Met Sally

The biggest problem with society today is we are all concerned with how others feel about things and it limits are ability to get things done. There's this need to make everyone feel included all the time or be labeled as "intolerant" or "insensitive." It's like that episode of The Simpsons when they separate the boys and girls atthe school in order to increase the girls math scores. The boys learned regular math while the girls discussed how numbers made them feel. 1+1=2 not whatever number you want it to be
The truth I have learned is that your feelings really only matter to you and the ones you care about. Feelings are an indulgence. We need to indulge them for our health but at the end of the day, whether you are on top of the world or at the bottom of the barrel, life goes on and the world isn't going to stop because you had a good or bad day We should teach our children, both boys and girls, is how to deal with their feelings and to have outlets for them to burn off any pent up energy. We need to acknowledge the difference we have, be it gender, race religion or whatever, yet not elevate one above the other. Not to fit a mold but make one and to be able to reward and discipline them based on the situation, not some blanket one size fits all rule.
