And sounding like Michael Moore is so bad because...?
36 out of 50 states and the federal government of the USA have not declared a moratorium ... what's your point?

personally, i am neither for or against the death penalty, i have heard good arguments from both sides.

what i do believe in however, is the democratic process and the due process of the law. if a particular juristiction has capital punishment, and someone is convicted of capital crime in that juristiction and receives the death penalty, then i am ok with that.

conversely if someone receives "life without" in a juristiction without capital punishment, then i am ok with that also.

allen received the death penalty because he chose to commit a capital crime in a state with capital punishment.

do you know the facts of the allen case. do you know that allen was given the death sentence for arranging the murder of 3 people while he was serving a "life without the possibilty of parole" sentence?

anyway, the only reason i jumped into this thread was because, i read the opinion that rescusitating someone in distress was an inhumane thing ...

i'd like to hear your opinion on that reddog ... ?

oh ... and i did not say sounding like michael moore is a bad thing. i find his documentaries highly entertaining, but if i want an objective veiwpoint of a topic i do not rely on michael moore for it.

Tao, you have your opinion; let's agree to disagree...

One tiny little flaw though among others; he was not in distress, rather he was dead...

Resuscitation means "to bring back from the dead".

A subtle but important point that shoots holes in your assertions.

That is the point I am making... Let's leave it at that!

BTW, your swinger is a good match to my spinner... :)

Maury,

first off, i just realized i have been spelling resuscitate incorrectly ... ... so thanks for not smacking me for that!!

you actually prompted me to look up resuscitate. normally i am not one to break out the dictionary to make a point ... but according to merriam webster you are incorrect that to resuscitate someone, explicitly means to bring them back from death.

resuscitation actually means to to revive from apparent death or from unconsciousness.

now as far as when death occurs and whether or not a person is resuscitated from death, or is actually resuscitated from apparent death, is akin to the argument about whether or not life begins with conception.

so i cannot concede that you shot holes in my assertion ... i actually think you shot off one of your toes :D

so i agree ... we can just agree to disagree and dream that our signatures hook up after we log off.

cheers :)
