Some people are just so stupid........some of you will remember how I had a neighbor a few miles away, that insisted, against my advice....that he was going to have the property line surveyed.
He lost acres of land and a small shop .....that I now own.
I tried to tell him to leave it alone, and that it may not work out in his favour, which it didn't.

Now on the other side of me the same thing is happening.....new owners of a small acerage from Richmond, trying to escape the confines of a city , have bought next to me.
They had their property surveyed....against my advice.
I was trying to be the nice guy, and let them use a pasture, and road that I knew I owned, but didn't need, nor care if they used......They became argumentative, and a little confrontational....thinking they were going to push the big Rancher around, and show me how it's done.
Turns out...as I tried to tell them, they've lost acres of land, part of a building, a pump house for irrigation, water access, and it cost them 9 thousand to pay the survey bill.
The funniest part was, when I was looking down at them from my horse....with a smile on my face, because I knew better, they tried to tell me I was trespassing, on my own property.

If someone has been in a neighbourhood for twenty years, and has a clue the location of the property pins....you might just want to shut up and listen for a minute.

A new one to me found in LCB today is "Espolon" Reposado NOM 1440 100% Agave $39 + taxes.

I googled it while in the tequila section and found many good reviews 4.5 *.

I just sampled a sipping shot and it's pretty damn good price considered.

Decent enough to sip and would make a great Marg :thumb:
When I saw your Comment Triple B, I thought geez, I think I have a Bottle of that ? LOL
Checked the Cabinet, and sure as Shit, I've got 2 ? LOL
I forgot, a Buddy returning a favor, thought He found one I might not have ? It's the Thought, that counts !

The funny Thing is, Espolon in Spanish, means Spur .
Which had Me thinking of Sybian .
Do modern Day Cowboys still wear Spurs ?
But, I think He answered that Question, in a Thread, last Summer ? LOL

https://perb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?237293-Blue-jeans-and-big-tits

Anyways, I had to refresh my Memory this Morning, on the taste of Espolon ?
It's 5:00 somewhere ! LOL
And I'll, lots of Sunday mornings, slip a Shot in my Coffee !

Yes, Espolon has a nice taste !

I've gotten a little spoiled on Anejos, and Extra Anejos ?
But, like You said, Espolon would make a great Marg, or addition to your Coffee, if You don't feel like a good straight up sipping Shot ?

I'll throw out another Suggestion, for a good reasonably priced Anejo .
Hornitos Black Barrel Anejo

$37 plus Taxes ! ( We can't forget Everyone's main Pimp ) LOL

http://www.bcliquorstores.com/product/425728

Which brings Me to another Recipe / Suggestion .

I call it, "Poor Man's Tequila Cream" !

Make yourself a Cup of Coffee .
Leave a little room for some Cream & a Shot of Tequila
Add 1 Tablespoon Agave Syrup ( Available at Costco )
Add 1oz Shot of Tequila
Add Cream ( Capt Obvious says, the more, the Creamier ) LOL

Voila, a tasty Sunday morning Coffee !
Also plays the Role, of a nice Dessert Coffee too ?

This comes from my past Enjoyment, of "1921Tequila Cream" .
They make some decent Tequila, & this Cream Liqueur .

Ironically, BCLDB brings this Tequila Cream into BC, as I tried to Special Order a Case a couple years ago .
But, some Restaurant has an exclusivity arrangement, where no one else can purchase It ? WTF !
I think, that's Bullshit ?

I'm out of Passion, again !

But, I think We need a Tune, to Sip that Coffee to ? LOL

Cheers

P.S. Just Remember !
Good Tequila will always have "100% Agave", somewhere on the Bottle !
It's a little tricky, to find sometimes ?

VM.....I do wear Spurs from time to time, but my horses ,with the miles and time they have on them, are old campaigners.
So there isn't a need for them 90% of the time.....but I do have a very extensive antique collection of them....it borders on almost a sickness.
I have several Spurs made by Garcia, Spanish Spurs made almost 200 years ago, colonial silver Inlaid Spurs ,knights Spurs circa 1400's....my next acquisition is a set of Roman Spurs which I've been actively seeking on eBay for 3 years now.
My display cabinet hanging on the wall for them is 3x5 foot, and it's getting a little full.

My other sickness is pre- 1880 high back saddles, or half seat saddles, and lever guns from the same era......and you think poonings expensive?

From which century, if I may ask?
The older they are, the more rare...or so I'm told anyways.
To be honest my knowledge lies in the North American cowboy antiques....Europe remains a bit of a mystery for me, but I'm learning.
Supposedly it depends what area they conquered at the time....the problem I'm told, is the fakes out there.
They are more of a spiked heel piece, and the older ones don't have a rowel.....they resemble a North American moccasin spur....very simple in function and design.
I've never seen a single or set in real life, and have only heard of them.....its along the same lines as an authentic Samurai sword. Finding a real one, is the holy grail.
The Romans occupied so much of Europe, it would be hard to determine if they were in fact authentic, or being passed off as original, when the same spur may have been used in Germany, or the UK. Centuries later, due to Roman influence.....
There is another mind set in collectors that question if they used them at all....or if their legion boots simply had an integral spike , or appendage formed into its heel.
For me.....it's the search, and the story of the find....or who rode with them to begin with.
We Cowboys like the lore of an object...I'm the very proud owner of several Spurs, saddles or rifles, owned or made for legends.

Thanks. I was just curious. The Romans didn't use stirrups, at least not during the time of the Western Empire. I think of spurs as something used by riders with boots in stirrups, but I guess there's no reason why spurs couldn't be used even if a rider's feet are hanging loose.

From what I understand your right, they may not have used stirrups.....modern day horses, along with natural horsemanship methods will give, or move away from pressure.
If light pressure is applied to their flank with the riders heel they will cross over , or move away from it.
Some of my horses are so " light" I can move them aside with my thumb , when standing next to them.
If an inexperienced rider gets on a " light" or sensitive horse, they become confused.....and within minutes they realize that they are in control, because there's a dumbass on their back that's never done this before.
Some wanna be Cowboys, or horsemen, just want to wear Spurs, and claim there's no horse that's so sensitive, and wear the spurs for show....my argument when encountering such an individual, wearing his 900 dollar boots, along with custom hat and Spurs is.....the animal can feel a fly land on his hide, what makes you think he can't feel your boot heel ?
It is my opinion that a set of Spurs strapped to the wrong dumbass, become a savage weapon, that can ruin a good horse, and may take years of trust away from him.

The relationship between an experienced horse, and gentle rider is a fragile one....the man simply wants to control, the horse has overcome his flight instinct, and will give to the will of the rider.
That trust is a fine thin line, that can disappear in an instant....or be ruined by someone that doesn't have a clue what he is strapping to his boot heels, before he jumps on an old campaigner.

Roman Spurs...???? You planning on making a spaghetti western...????

I wouldn't reserve a spot for them...doubt any are on the open market. Have seen them in museums in Germany, Egypt, Libya and of course Italy. Never seen any for sale in the open market or the black market though North Africa or Middle East would be the best place to try to get some.

The ones I've seen online are in so rough of condition, they could be a bent spoon, or a spur....maybe

Which Brings to mind.....you have any for sale in your collection?
Anything with carved silver inlays?

No spur collection here...never used spurs on a horse...I believe if you can't ride them without spurs don't get up on them. Have rode a few two legged critters with spurs on, but then they tend to get a lot more ornery then any four legged filly I ever met. Only silver carved inlays I have are on blade handles.
