Caught them for the first time on Austin City Limits last night and was completely blown away. Wish I would have know about them earlier...they played Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park last July. For an old guy brought up on Zeppelin, Floyd, ACDC circa Bon Scott, Aersosmith circa Walk this Way, and Blue Oyster Cult, after seeing these guys I think there really is hope for the rock scene, which was destroyed by those fucking hair bands like Poison and Motley Crue. Rock never recovered from that era.

I hope that show comes out on DVD.

They're a side project for Jack White from the White Stripes and members of another Detroit band called the Greenhornes.

Glad you liked 'em, but there probably won't be many albums. The Broken Boy Soldier album is pretty solid though.

There's plenty of great rock music, it's just that none of it ever makes it to the shitty commercial radio of today's corporation sanitized airwaves.

i love the white stripes, but i hear "steady as she goes" on the radio and i vomit in my mouth a little.

check out wolfmother. they have kind of a led zeppelin/black sabbath kind of vibe to them.

if you like your rock on the heavier side check out buckcherry's "15" album. people will automatically say "oh, those are they guys that do crazy bitch" but there are soooooooo many better songs on that album

Sure it did; it was called 'grunge'. That was the scene that killed the hair bands and cock rock (thank god).

(BTW, I think 'steady as she goes' is a fucking great song, but I agree that there probably won't be anymore).
