Temporary husbands and johns!?

Some friends asked me about temporary marriage which is legal and practiced in the Middle East and Africa, and the difference between temporary husband and johns!? First of all the attitude towards sex is kind of different in non Christian societies, and also money plays a great role in any kind of marriage over there.

I n reality there is not much difference between sex trade and temporary marriage in some sense. The difference is that the terms of agreement (consent) are registered by the local priest on printed form. Also the duration of contract can be anything from one hour to many years as they wish. Normally a man and sp begin their contracts for a short period of time and if they like, they repeat the agreement as many times as they wish. So they have legalized what is still illegal in some Western societies! Mind you sex industry as we know can never be totally eliminated any where.
So you see how they play with words. Tomorrow I am visiting a nice sp in New West.
If I could afford 30 browns, she could be my temporary wife for a few days!! How about that?

I saw a news doc Iran that explained the temporary marriage issue. An older man ( looked to be in his 50's ) paid a women ( late teens early twenties ) who needed money to be his temporary wife for a period of time. She took off with the money.

I found the practice to be very suprising, I had always thought that Islam was as prude ( excluding the multiple wifes issue ) as the Puritans

I don’t care for any organized religion and make no comments on that. There are hookers who take money and run –away. The incident you are referring to is not strange. Women or men may run away from traditional marriage which causes substantial financial damage!

The reason I mentioned Islam is because I believed the practice was legal with in the framework of Islamic law ( or at least the Shia version of it ). That was the suprising part about it. Not that people would run with the money.

You are right, it is surprising. In some Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia it is very dangerous to have a wife, to have girl friends and to see sp at the same time. So the richer men keep 1 queen mother of the house and 2 or 3 younger girls for spare/change! That is legal all over the Islamic world, though it may not be practice in the Westernized societies.

I believe that I saw the same program as you did. This guy was 67 if I recall correctly and he was "marrying" a 17 year old girl for 6 months. How sick is that? The show also mentioned that he already had a wife that he didn't live with and didn't take care of. He got 2 weeks of free sex out of her before finally paying her I think it was $200 local currency. You forgot to mention how disgusting this guy was, old, wrinkled, 4 teeth in his head, no hygiene practices, not to mention no brain. Are you surprised that as soon as she got the money, she left? She has to eat too.

Another thing that wasn't mentioned was that men who get into these marriages are totally free to abuse their wives (physically, emotionally, etc) or to pimp them out as they see fit. The one girl had a huge slash on her arm from her "husband" slicing her arm with a knife and other bruises. At one point you could hear her toddler in the other room crying as this guy was abusing it too while the mother was in the other room crying and helpless to defend herself or her baby. Why didn't you mention that as part of the whole marriage scenario?

Women have no rights in those countries. I feel sorry for them. Thank god we treat our women better than that over here. IMO

If I was the girl I would have taken the money and run, run very fast.

Now while men in Canada are not legally allowed to abuse their wifes/girlfriends, they do it anyway. A cousin of mine was shot in the head, blinded and disfigured for life by a guy trying to kill his ex ( he missed and hit my cousin instead )
