I’m disgusted to even post this thread. The conservative stacked US Supreme Court just overturned the Roe v Wade decision protecting Women’s reproductive rights.

America just landed their time machine in the 1950’s. If there was ever a reason to expand the Supreme Court with four new liberal minded justices it is now.

I think we can expect our southern neighbours to have an even more turbulent times moving forward.

Westwoody nailed it. This leads to a very dark place. You cannot lead by minority rule via religious ideology. The GOP are literally planting the seeds for civil war and don’t care. This will not end well for America and that in turn has serious significance for Canada.

also this is worth watching and very relevant today.

So many of us have friends, relatives, and business acquaintances across the line - so sad for them and for me so much more happy & proud to be Canadian.

i'm predicting that none of this will fair well for the R's... winning the culture war was never the point. wedge issues were only to get the base ginned up. now they will have to move on to something else... yet, suffer the loss of support from the non-base voters.

as for roe... this pushes it back to the states. thus, the midwest will be more like some post apocalyptic place ruled by theology, the more populated states won't change much. lets see where people choose to live? i suspect not being able to have sex in certain states will really make people think twice about living there! and the historic migration of people from rural to urban environments will further escalate, drying up R votes further.

The result of the senate being right wing controlled.

So will there be a boom in abortion drugs?
How long before unwanted child support starts making a mark?
Will Canada see an influx of newly pregnant women?
Cause and effect ... time will tell.

And as I have posted before, sure glad I was born on this side of the 49th.

And the majority of those charged with illegal abortions will be black or brown.

Never vote conservative.

I wonder how long it will take the red states to ask for federal money to pay for the upkeep of all of the unwanted post-born babies that end up in state care?

Maybe life won't seem so precious when it's costing the dumb states money.

I was reading that the total adult population in favour of access to abortions is roughly 80%. The Dems and other social leaning voters comprised most as expected. Surprised to see 30% GOP are also in favour too. Maybe this move will blow up on them for the midterm elections.

Clarence Thomas, supreme court justice and sexual assaulter, has decreed that same sex unions and access to contraception are next for the SCOTUS to go after. What he doesn't realize is that civil rights for blacks, Hispanics and other minorities will follow those in the Great White Dream to turn things back to 1900.

Clarence Thomas is a black man married to a white woman.
That used to be a crime.

I am just enraged at BIden. I am an American frome Seattle and things here are already gearing up for a big fight. The Christian White Nationalists have stepped over a line that I think is going to cost them the Midterms. Biden, whom I voted for is a god damn waterass and has reniged on alot of things {pot for 1}. I think this would be a great oppurtunity for Canadians to open abortion clinics just north of the border to help the poor female soles down here. I am so ASHAMED of my country. This won't stop here. Gay rights. is next

The poor can't afford traveling to Canada to get an abortion.

Dems had how many years to codeify into law the right to abortion? Just recently they had the presidency, the senate, and the house. They could have and should have done something then. Even liberal judges were saying that Roe vs wade would not stand.

Republicans have been clear for decades. Quite frankly people should be disgusted at the dems for not doing anything
