The Anaheim Ducks have imploded in 2 weeks

One bad GM can wreck a 7 year rebuild in a couple of weeks. Anyone see the Ducks news today

Flyers offered Leo Carlsson 18 million x 5, if Ducks don't match they end up with 4 1st rounders

A team that took Vegas to 6 and probably could have won the series except for one bad icing call and Jackson Lacombe passing up a wide open net opportunity.

They now lost Trouba, John Carlson, Olen Zellweger, Mason McTavish, and probably Leo Carlsson for more draft picks than anyone could really use. I have been rooting for this team since the Bobby Ryan, Corey Perry and Ryan Getlazf 1st line days. We went from a Top Pacific team to maybe the same level as the Canucks in 2 weeks. Opps I forgot Pavel Mintyukov
will get an RFA sheet too. Seeing how the team has gutted its young core, Cutter Gauthier the 2nd year player who just put up 40 goals will not want to resign seeing how the GM treats its player. Zellweger and McTavish deserved another year.

Us Ducks fans deserve better, 7 year rebuild and it all came crashing down.

Not really. If the owner has any brains he will replace the GM now and basically keep going with building the team.

The 4 firsts can be used to get other players or draft. One thing that killed the Canucks is they had no draft picks. I'm sure if the Ducks called the Canucks and said "we will give you four firsts for Petey and DeBrusk" that Ryan Johnson would be speeding those two to the airport within minutes. Would probably have Boeser and Demko in the back seat just in case he can toss them into the deal for future considerations (ie: don't send them back!).

You might be on to something Pumped. I would probably take the deal 4 1st for Petey, Debrusk, and Boeser but Demko is not coming to Anaheim.

Petey might thrive in SoCal. The pressure will not be high, passing to Cutter Gauthier.

Take the picks, offer a cpl to Detroit and get Larkin and then try to get Robertson.... Not like ducks are hurting for cap space

Leo needs to be a top 3 player going forward to justify that contract and that just ain't happening

Looking at the offer, it's all upfront bonus money which makes the contract buyout proof and likely impossible to ever trade. And paying LC $18 million is just nuts. Let him be Philly's problem. And worse for Philly is giving up 4 firsts doesn't give them much of a chance of replenishing their roster/prospects or drafting potential trade bait.

And Petey would do well in Anaheim, and for giving up one good C they could replace him with an okay Petey, and two other decent players for him. And Anaheim has the cap space to take all three of Petey, DeBrusk and Boeser.
