This story is fascinating that the boys soccer team was found alive after being missing for 10 days.

Now there is debate whether to attempt retraction now or after the rainy season has ended.

Dive teams assisting from Australia, UK and US have been helping the Thai Seal Team bring food and supplies down the 1 km long tunnel. There is discussion that the coach may face criminal charges for exposing the kids to this dangerous tunnel.

See a movie on this in the near future?

Definitely glad the Thai boys are saved especially since it sounded so hopeless to begin with. They're probably gonna be on Ellen, have their 15 minutes of fame and definitely a movie of how they survived 10 days in a cave and their rescue.

The coach was quite young too (25, I believe) and was obviously inexperienced.

This is assuming they can learn to scuba and swim underwater for nearly a km. None have ever had a mask on and the ones available are for adult faces.

Some are even suggesting keeping them in the cave for a month til the rainy season is over.

This is still a tricky situation.

Sadly they might have to wait until October after the monsoon season before getting them out. They are 2 to 2.5 km from the opening of the cave and 800 m to 1 km deep . It won't be an easy task

The movie may be out before they are - they'll have to send an agent in to work out a deal!
Best of luck!

This BBC article has a map of the tunnel.

It's quite challenging where some areas are less than a meter clearance while others are 10 m high.

That's just crazy :(
I'm panicking just thinking about the situation they are in...I can't imagine myself being trapped like that, I don't think I could make it.
I'm really hoping they are strong and they will all be saved.

It does seem a hopeless situation with only a miracle chance of succeeding.

A former US Seal Team 1 diver with over 1000 dives ranked this a very dangerous dive even for professionals.

The oxygen level in the tunnel is 15% which will cause hypoxia.

Not sure how much time they have, but their current location appears to be the most accessable point for overhead drilling, to provide oxygen, supplies and possibly create an exit point.

They're working on installing an oxygen pipe.

If the cave is known to flood it is crazy to go into it.
It seems stupid to go so far in, and irresponsible to take children in.

Ah I didn't see that.

They were escaping the rising water from torrential rain.

I can see it happening since I was in SE Asia during the transition from hot season to the wet season. I went into a medical clinic when it was not raining and when I came out an hour later, the water was waist high. It happens freakishly fast and in those days most of the roads around Phuket were dirt only adding to the problem.
