Hey HN,

I booked an appointment with the west 12th clinic but appointments seem to run 2 weeks down the road.

So just trying to get some insight as I've gotten a rash both sides of my torso. So there's four patches all small groups of slightly darker than skin tone patches flushed with the skin and no bigger than half the palm size. Two patches are under each armpit. One slightly lower on the left side and the last one lower from the armpit closer to the hip.

When they first appeared they were very itchy but now they don't itch at all.

That being said, I have not experienced swollen lymph, or anything else.

I'm just wondering if syphilis rashes usually joint as one big patch or can it be broken up like this case. As well as the initial itch.

Hi palmmaster

Sorry about the delay with getting an appointment at the 12th ave clinic.

I would recommend coming to the Bute street clinic as it is drop in only.

It is really difficult to diagnose conditions over the internet but I can give you some suggestion based on what you have written.

A rash which can show up with secondary syphilis is usually not itchy and has red or reddish brown spots.

The problem with syphilis is that the skin rash can look very different from person to person and even look like a rash from another disease. We have been fooled at the clinic a few times. This is why they call syphilis “the great imitator”.

Given this I suggest that anyone who has a sore or unfamiliar rash to get a syphilis blood test if there has been a risk.

Palmmaster I would recommend going to the Bute street clinic or any doctor for a checkup and syphilis test. There are many different things that can cause rashes that are not STI related.

Here is a link for more information on syphilis.

Hope you are feeling better.
