Suggest a job where time goes fast and lots of variety

I thought I had that job as a substitute mailman. I worked at various stations, areas, time flew by amazing fast and not boring really and kept fit. However my manager was a lunatic and worked me 7 days straight too often and I had to quit due to that. There was no reasoning with the guy.
So I was thinking CNC machinist as they are hired very quickly but that looks awful boring and you are at the same place all the time. Any ideas on a job where not many or no bosses around and by yourself pretty much all the time and be here and there. I no longer like office work whatsoever. I did that for 16 years and see it as torture.

This may seem rather obvious. Have you approached Honda Canada?

BTW, as a substitute mailman weren't you part of the union? I recall many years ago I got screened for xmas help, but I couldn't take the job due to other commitments and it was union back then.

The union can't help, technically I got a day off during the week but it was a rotating day off which meant I was always 7 days per week when you factor in the previous week's days. That is unethical, just wrong mgr wrong place.

Usa. We had to deliver Amazon on Sundays and they do tremendous business. They own the Post office.

I am always impressed by anyone that makes *their* job interesting.

Like the server at a diner in Spokane. For some a menial occupation, yet over 40 years put 4 of her kids through college and literally made the day of hundreds of thousands of patrons over the years. She was talented, funny, classy and professional.

My point? Anyone has the capability of making any "job," or their occupation interesting, challenging and rewarding.

Like you (the OP) pointed out, a bad boss can make a good job miserable. A good boss makes a bad job tolerable or even fun.

My other point? If at all possible, pick your own boss or in the alternative, be your own boss.

Life is much too short an can be filled with bad things - to work at a job that doesn't make you smile on the way there, and on the way home.

Unless you are making a product and whole salong it to other.But you still have to please some one .

Land surveyor. Out and about. One day you could be surveying for a new subdivision, another day you could be on the other side of the city for a highway expansion. Need a really good raincoat though.

It does help to know a bit about houses and construction, in order to do that. The best inspectors are usually people who have already spent years working in construction and/or renovations.

my job is a driving job in the funeral business. the day goes by fairly fast. pretty open freedoms. but it is repetitive in that i goto the same places and do the same thing, so it does get boring.
