There is a scene in a movie called Chasing Amy that deals with this topic. Look for the scene with Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams on the swings talking. As she states, penetration does not have to be penile in nature. Virginity is lost when a woman gives herself fully and completely in a sexual nature to her lover, be it woman or man. (If you're counting farm animals then I think you're on the wrong forum.)
