I don't find anything wrong at all with a warm smile.
There is no reason to think it is anything but a nice gesture among strangers admiring each other

This is true, but I have known a lot of paranoid girls with a lot to lose. If he smiles at the girl, she might experience a bit of panic, thinking omg, I really hope he doesn't say hi. I think act like you never met her, not interested, is the best, and safest option in most situations..
Most people know what I do, plus I am quite quick with my reactions.
I used to hang out with a girl that no matter what, she could never remember my real name, lol. We'd be out in public and every 2 seconds, she would be like hey Harmony I'd say, I don't know who that Harmony is, but she better be hot, cause you keep calling me her name.

I have nothing to lose, though. I have no jealous boyfriend, square job, or child, so I am cool. A few relatives don't know what I do, but I do not live in the same city as those guys. I'm ok with even a quick respectful chat, but I would say lots of girls are not. There is also the times where I am just running to the grocery store and really don't feel like being nice, or on, and would really just rather go about my business, without even going through the effort to turn my cheeks into a smile. This is especially true after I have done a few massages and I'm hungry and tired
