Currently awash in Captain Morgan's rum, listening to my internet-derived compilations, I obsessively PINE for several original versions of the following early/initial Stan Kenton orchestra.

Intermission Riff
Artistry in Rhythm
Artistry in Boogie
Artistry Jumps
Over The Rainbow (Rossolino and Fontanna)
Something Cool (June Christy)
Laura (Four Freshman)

The ultimate irony is that had I not discarded/thrown out (in one of my residential relocations) my original "Sketches On Standards" LP set of six 33.3 12" LP's that was a comprehensive set of the Kenton era recordings when I became an absolute Stan Kenton (Peter Newman aside). That set would have provided what I am now somewhat desperatly seeking. Obviously, the internet-derived versions are mostly LATER "skim milk" renditions in comparison to the original versions that fueled my passion for Stan Kenton and Pete Rugolo. Evolutionally followed by my becoming aware of Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, Nina Simone and then Kurt Elling.

Of course, anything I have (internet compilation-wise) is available to responding PERBites. Lots of tenor saxophone wirh Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, MJQ, Coltraine and Miles Davis and on and on. PM's are encouraged. And if the response is deafening in its silence, I surely understand.
