I'm gonna register as a business and start taking payments via square. I'll have a fake web site that makes it look like I'm a life coach. would you use square to pay for a sex worker?
Cash is fine! I just want to provide this alternative, especially for deposits.Cash is no good anymore?
Its just basically a portable credit card dongle you plug into your phone. My son uses one on his job doing parking lot windshield repairs. Think of it as a hand held credit card terminal like you see in restaurants and such without all the expense of a network, expensive terminals. (2000 for one of those nice white Apple looking terminals!) Been around for a long time now. I first used one to buy coffee at a stand in Maui in 2014. Lot of small businesses use them.Don't have the foggiest idea what Square is. Too lazy to look it up. I'm a cash on the table kinda guy.
Oh awesome! May I ask which you use?I said to do it! It provides an additional option
The only potential downside is that if you like receiving cash, you may not get it anymore.
I’ve taken credit cards through a different merchant account for many years, and less than 10% of my income is paid in cash.
It’s the easiest solution for multi hour liaisons, especially for American and European suitors.
Be careful when using the merchant account of another business as whatever you put through their account can be considered as income for them in the case of an audit.Another word of caution to be mindful of.
Square are based in California and therefore subject to the FOSTA and SESTA legislation in the US. They will be careful not to get caught facilitating any sort of sex work, and will have thresholds and other flags that trigger a closer look at your transactions. Deposits might not raise any eyebrows but big $$ might. Having money seized has been a problem for people using PayPal deposits etc... and Square will be aware of their issues.
If there is a similar payments system operating in Europe or Australia it would be much safer.
Lady Companion, are you using the account of another business altogether? That would be a perfect way to go if transactions are just mixed in with someone who already has the merchant account set up.
This is true. Had this happen with square, paypal and stripe.I use Square for my business. It's nice but keep in mind signing up is fast and easy and they don't ask much but as soon as you hit a serious amount or size of transactions (like a few thousands) Square will freeze your funds and ask for additional proof of business (lots of forms to fill and legal documents for your business) before they release them so it's not as easy as a fake website.
