I don't see it as much, if any, of a difference than credit card payment. I selected yes, but I think it'd still draw the same suspicions that credit cards (and debit to a lesser degree) do.

I voted no because of the suspicious SO, however if square accept prepaid CC’s then I would use it for deposits to a reputable provider.

Don't have the foggiest idea what Square is. Too lazy to look it up. I'm a cash on the table kinda guy.

Its just basically a portable credit card dongle you plug into your phone. My son uses one on his job doing parking lot windshield repairs. Think of it as a hand held credit card terminal like you see in restaurants and such without all the expense of a network, expensive terminals. (2000 for one of those nice white Apple looking terminals!) Been around for a long time now. I first used one to buy coffee at a stand in Maui in 2014. Lot of small businesses use them.

I looked into it, it's portable, no monthly fee, a percentage charge per transaction you could factor into cost of client booking. it does take prepaid cc's as well as normal cc's and one can control what is on statement re: generic statement you choose. you can purchase debit/tap system for minimal but I think it may be have bit more percentage fee per transaction. lots of small businesses use them

I said to do it! It provides an additional option :)

The only potential downside is that if you like receiving cash, you may not get it anymore.

I’ve taken credit cards through a different merchant account for many years, and less than 10% of my income is paid in cash.

It’s the easiest solution for multi hour liaisons, especially for American and European suitors.

I've always been a cash guy so this is not something i've even thought of.... no problem etransfering a deposit with reputable sp's like Charlee but I'm still a cash guy.

I use Square for my business. It's nice but keep in mind signing up is fast and easy and they don't ask much but as soon as you hit a serious amount or size of transactions (like a few thousands) Square will freeze your funds and ask for additional proof of business (lots of forms to fill and legal documents for your business) before they release them so it's not as easy as a fake website.

Another word of caution to be mindful of.

Square are based in California and therefore subject to the FOSTA and SESTA legislation in the US. They will be careful not to get caught facilitating any sort of sex work, and will have thresholds and other flags that trigger a closer look at your transactions. Deposits might not raise any eyebrows but big $$ might. Having money seized has been a problem for people using PayPal deposits etc... and Square will be aware of their issues.

If there is a similar payments system operating in Europe or Australia it would be much safer.

Lady Companion, are you using the account of another business altogether? That would be a perfect way to go if transactions are just mixed in with someone who already has the merchant account set up.

Be careful when using the merchant account of another business as whatever you put through their account can be considered as income for them in the case of an audit.

When I go to see a SP, I'll hit an ATM first to withdraw the agreed-upon amount. Sometimes, during the session, there are times that I wish I could have had some extra money on me to pay for a particular extra or extend my time. That's never an option because I would have to leave and come back.

The square would make it possible to add a little more to your session, but I think that I would need to build a rapport with a provider before feeling comfortable enough to do so.

Throwing in on this (I think there was a thread on credit cards some time ago too).

I have a few pooning rules, really hard stops, I have followed for many years, even back when I started in the 80's.
- I only carry cash for a visit, my wallet is either at home or in a secure spot in my car. I figured that since there was some risk of being mugged why take a chance. And YES all of us here who follow much more reputable providers really have little to fear but ......
- Second with cash there is no specific record of an expense that might need an explanation. If that ever comes up. My pooning is my business and as things are with me the past quite a few years, I have no significant other but do have some regular women and maybe, if they decided we should start that death spiral into monogamy, began asking questions, I would like there to be nothing to question.
If you all know what I mean.

So in a long winded post I say if square and credit card payments work for the pooner, do make it easier for our providers, and go for it. It's just not for me.

This is true. Had this happen with square, paypal and stripe.

All you will need is your company documents and your ID to have your funds become available again. Just make sure to register an actual company "ABC life coaching" or whatever you choose. Very easy to do and if you need help, you can DM me.
