SP's Working Christmas Day

This year there were more SP's advertising services on Christmas day than I think I've ever seen.

Asian SP's used to be the only ones advertising, but this year there were a lot of Caucasian SP's offering seasonal cheer.

Is this a sign of the economy? Changing morals? Decline in religion? Acceptance of sex work? Or?...

I doubt the decline in religion or morels has anything to do with their decisions to work on certain special days. I'd venture to say many clients might very be alone and lonely this time of year. Just remember....At Christmas, many people over time may encounter very hard times such as...... loved ones passing therefore creating sad memories, or being / getting divorced etc etc. I think it is offering companionship to lonely people during times like Christmas when many others may have families to celebrate with.

I'm not an SP myself but I can try coming up with several factors that may contribute to this increase.

1) Keeping up with competition. Clients that are visiting and giving their money to Asian SP's could be giving that to you instead, no reason to let an opportunity pass

2) Rather than change in morals or religion, I think it's a decline of tradition. Don't get me wrong, the holidays are my favorite time of year. But it's a more family centric celebration. Growing up, my family would always open presents together. However nowadays that I'm older, I really don't do anything. To be honest, I just kind of loafed around in my apartment and watched a couple Christmas movies.

3) On the other hand, it could be seen as a pseudo charitable act. If someone's seeing SP's on Christmas, then they probably feel lonely that they don't have anyone to spend the holiday with. Offering companionship (even for a limited time at a high price) is a kind gesture to them.

4) Places like Vancouver are a melting pot for different peoples. Some may not value or even celebrate Christmas, so there's not any reason keeping them from earning some more money.

I'm just spitballing these, not trying to pass any of these are facts or anything. Just thought it was an interesting quesiton.

There used to be a few ads here indicating Christmas availability.

I've visited a few Caucasian (or shall I say non Asian to clarify) SP's on Christmas Day. I would have this year too but plans went sideways.

I'd say it's easier to spend time with a like minded person rather than some people who may not approve of the industry.

Some people need to blow off steam, due to holiday pressure.
Some people decide to give a gift to themselves.
And lots of people are lonely and find the holidays just suck the joy out of them, so they need some companionship.

Xmas time is prime-time for making money in other ways too. At one job, I used to volunteer for Xmas day shifts when I could - you get double the pay and the workload tends to be very light. Best day of the year, getting paid more, but having no customers to worry about.
If I wasn't working, I'd be at home just lazing around all day. And probably wanting to get laid to break the boredom, so there you go. An explanation.

Actually I have noticed there are newer faces being advertised on Leolist over Christmas day,....which probably means most of them are fake.

That said, they say Christmas is the most depressing time of the year anyways. I'm sure the scammers are utilizing that notion to get those who are miserable as their new victims.

... or they are 'new' girls, lol.

Either way, if you're in that camp of being miserable on Xmas, might as well get an SP

Supply, Demand....

I wish a sweet, sexy lady, who skied, was working in Revelstoke Christmas day. Would have booked a 24 hour date, taken her skiing, and as my dinner date. Love living here, the lifestyle, town itself, but the SP world here is nil.

Sign of times.

Does anyone remember many stores being closed on new years day as well?? Along came Walmart, they started to open and slowly others followed suit.

If I could, I would have all the stores open a lot longer, on holidays and even xmas.

One observation:

I did go out on xmas day and a few stores were open and majority of the employees working on them were non-white/caucasian (many Indians and other Asians). Not trying to stir a racist controversy, but solidifying my point that things are changing in Canada.

I also noticed more ads than usual. It's a combination of things. SPs who value traditional Christmas generally have the opportunity to take some time off. On the other hand, I know somebody who worked because she didn't value the holidays that much and because the business was slow in December.

One year may be not enough to draw long-term conclusions. Many random factors make supply and demand fluctuate temporary. I'd mention the weak stock market, which must have made some potential clients feel not as rich as they used to be.

This guy reminds me of Andrew " dice" Clay. Vulgar and NOT funny . I believe the reason for more non Asian SW working Christmas is a lot less ladies care a lot less about the holidays and view it as a good time to cater clients feeling lonely . Personally I hate this time of year, 30 yrs of doing Christmas parties and cooking for tons of clients expecting great food have left me jaded for the holidays and stressed out. If a lady decides to work during this time of year , all I can say is THANKS

I'm in agreement with you on that. I'll also add...we all now know 2019 will be more costly for most of us. ICBC rate increase and property tax. General tax increases all around too. It'll hurt most of us. Oh ya...I'm looking forward to that :nono::ballchain::frusty:

I agree. There are few things less funny than the drunken ramblings of an alcoholic.
