SPs who want to have a meet 'n' greet prior to an appointment

Thoughts on service providers who want you to shell out a couple of hundred bucks (and presumably food/drinks) prior to meeting up? I came across this while perusing SPs:

1 hour dinner date at Incall C$200
*A social date is required to get to know one another before any intimate time!* Want to get to know each other in a comfortable one on one situation? Either bring dinner or we will order takeout!

I get asking for references, some sort of basic verification for the SP's safety/piece of mind; but shelling out $200-300 just to hang out seems a bit obtuse.

I can understand this for more specialized care or fetish relationship where you really want to get a feel for the chemistry between two people before proceeding to the bedroom/dungeon/hockey rink.
