Anybody else getting all these spam text messages on their Speakout phone? They are all coming from 333330000 and 222220000 type numbers. The messages are all just a bunch of crap like "I am not wearing any socks and have panties to match" etc.

I am not sure what the purpose of these messages are as they are all coming from fake numbers.

Omg yes! I have been getting at least 2/day.

One I got the other day was "You're hotter than the sun" or something like that. lol Just checked my work phone and I received "Are you a candle because I'm going to blow you".

I have no idea what the purpose is, just don't reply.

Creepy though because one day I received the same message on my work phone and my personal phone...

The App Mr Number will help. It deletes them before you get a notification. Not perfect, but better than not. The 7-11 phone might not have the capability to download the app, but Android and iPhone stores both have the app. It works well with blocking spam and unwanted texters or callers

Wild speculation: this is some sort of anti-prostitution initiative that got someone's contact list and is trying to freak clients out by having them receive suggestive texts at random when significant others or the like might catch them. It's the only thing I can come up with that would explain suggestive texts with no way to respond or stop them.

Wild Speculation seems to sound right. I don't think it has anything to do with the 'hobby'. I think someone just hacked into speak out net work and got all our phone numbers.

I could be wrong, .. wouldn't be the first time. :)

I'm on Roger's
Got 3 of those last week, all within about 20 minutes. Then nothing.
This morning, it was "You have been chosen by OPEC to receive $400,000..."
I'm going with random junk texts, not targeted.

I have also received a number of these spam texts on my Rogers pay as you go phone. 3 for some kind of online casino and several of those sexually suggestive ones from the numbers listed by the OP.

Chances are they're just trying to get people to click on a weblink - don't do it. At best, you don't want spammers to get clicks using this shitty method; at worse, your phone will be exposed to a virus.

One of my friend just broke up with his fb because of a text message like this, however that message had a valid fone number and a name. If I would get this message and show my partner, who would believe this with that weird sender number you can't even text or call back.
Doesn't make sense to me.

I've been using Mr Number for a while now. I like how it gives a score about the spam or scam details.

The ones that I found to be quite strange were all the numbers that looked like my own cell number. Of the 10 digits 7 or 8 were the same as mine. Mr Number nuked em all.

I've heard of some getting messages saying "I saw you on facebook" with similar messages. I use truemessenger and do not get them.

I've received the same thing from the 2's and 3's. Just automatically deleted them as I don't normally receive texts on my spare phone.
Speakout uses the Rogers network btw.

I've been getting them on my speak out as well, haven't given it much thought just deleted them but it is weird how they can target a pooner!
They aren't targeting pooners, we are just more sensitive about it because we are pooners ;)

Spoke with a Roger rep, these guys are basically using mass random numbers with hopes of getting a few hits here and there. Rogers is trying to build a workaround and are hoping to have it solved soon. In the meantime, just like any other spam message, don't click on any links and simply delete the message and block the number.

Pretty much everyone on Rogers/Fido is getting them. Rogers claims to have a stronghold on the situation.

On Rogers, just got one from 222220000, "Tammie04 @ peco2.com" (I inserted the spaces to prevent it from formatting as an email address)
