I was wondering why many of the sp’s prefer cell phone based texting instead of whatsapp for example? I understand the security concerns so if that’s the only reason then that answers my question. But, I’m sure there’s plenty of gentleman here that prefer to call or email and not text. Texting has a way of coming back on you. Sp’s could use it against u, not saying they would, don’t go nuts here!!, but there are scammers in this line of work and their motives aren’t always good ones! My reasons for not wanting to text are a shared cell plan with my partner! I have also heard some phone companies keep the actual texts for up to 30 days or more. But whatsapp is encrypted and much safer for clients to use. I have seen several Asian ladies using it, but not many. I know I’m missing out because I try to call and many ladies either don’t answer or don’t speak English well enough to get the booking right. I hope a few more ladies start using whatsapp, it would be a welcomed addition

For my situation, I prefer texting because:
- if I'm in session or otherwise occupied, you've left me a message to tell me why you've contacted me
- if we're booking a session, I can screensplit our conversation and my calendar to see what my availability looks like
- if I'm running around town, it's a much more discrete discussion than a verbal "okay, so you're looking for sexually-aggressive but not Domme-whips-and-chains, right? Oh, some restraints? Like cuffs? But you're uncomfortable with collars, understood."
- I can scroll around our past discussions quickly if I need a refresher on what kind of sessions we've booked before (I don't add clients as contacts so that they don't sync up with Google contacts or whatever in a surprise update), including length of, times of, specific requests or preferences. (Note that Whatsapp requires a contact to be in your phone, not interested in that.) Also, I sometimes use little note-codes in my conversations as cues to myself (may God have mercy on your soul if I've told you to "Take care.").
- texting shows me that you've read my ad, including contact preferences and are abiding by them like a good boy.
- I usually have four or five things going on at once, and I don't have time for a phone call unless I specifically ask you for one or invited you to make one ("texting is difficult for me because I'm blind," "Yup, we can have a phone call."). If I'm taking a phone call, I have to sit down with a pen and paper to get down the details of the session and pull up my calendar.
- the number of breathy wank-off "just wanted to make sure you're real, what kind of outfits do you like" calls wasn't worth picking up the phone anymore.
- should there be an issue with confirmation, session details, timeline, requests, whatever, I can refer clients back to our conversation in writing about what our agreement was ("scroll up, my love").
- making a client write out their message before sending it increases the odds that they'll read back and consider what they're saying by about 9%. It's not perfect, but it's better than "I'm not sure what I'd like, let me think... hmmm... I like women... who... kiss.... and blowjobs... you do blowjobs, right? Yeah... ummm... I have a hotel, or maybe... do you have an incall? Oh yeah, I think I read that in your ad on ... Leo's... no,... the Trist? I like that site... it's in Vancouver, I think?"

I've spoken to other SPs who prefer phone calls because:
- they like to see if there's compatibility/rhythm/spark/flow. If you can't hold a conversation for a few minutes, you're probably not going to be a great fit.
- one or both parties might find they have difficulty with "reading someone" over text, or their "tone doesn't express well in text." Both legit.
- only taking or preferring phone calls cuts down on the "hey." "hey." "hey." conversational model. A much more now-or-never approach, fine.
- in the same way that I say "do not call" they have a "do not text" note in their ad. Same purpose served.

Re your concerns about:
- shared phone plan--maybe get you a burner? That seems like a barrel of gunpowder right there, hey? ;)
- text messages are saved--sure, but screenshots exist. If someone wants to prove you've contacted them, they will.
- what about scammers--scammers gonna scam. If that means they need to do that via Whatsapp, on a VOIP call, while sitting in a canoe in an abandoned barn, they will. Do your homework and keep your head on straight.

I love you. You're doing a great job.

As a software developer let me offer a simple explanation: all software is broken. Text messages are slightly less so. The chances of something going sideways with SMS is much smaller than with one of these fancy apps. It's not a good angle when you need to scramble because of the software doing something weird. For eg. I regularly get warnings from Instagram that I got a new DM when in fact I didn't.

I prefer texting for a lot of reasons, many already mentioned. I also prefer text because you can hold multiple conversations at one time. And for God sake please text me before you call so I can let you know if I am in a suitable area to discuss things. I am not a fan of texting apps and do not accept them if I know up front.

No handler or pimp wants voice calls. And quite frankly, very few ladies do too for reasons outlined above. WhatsApp requires an actual # that usually attaches to a person's real # so yeah, that's usually a no go for obvious reasons.

I've been saying it for years - texting apps are a pooner's best tool next to their wallet.
