I usually never post in the advertiser section (just not my thing) - just gave it a shot for the first time this past week to see what comes of it.

I first became a paid advertiser in order to post a link to my website, my email and photos/banners in my sig or profile without getting banned. Basically that's all I'm doing.

Did I miss some kind of update that now allows all sp's to include all these (except for posting in advertisers section) without having to become supporting members/paid advertisers?

Can someone please let me know because if this is the case I think I must be an idiot for paying when it's not required! I mean, having my handle appear in RED is really cool and all... but I'll get over it real quick if that's all I'm paying for!

There is no inconsistency, you cannot post anything in your profile that is in the nature of advertising, no phone numbers, no links to your escort website.

What everyone forgets is the sheer number of members. For instance, as I type this there are 345 users online. I cannot review the profile of every user. What I do from time to time is review the profiles of SOME of the people who are online looking for unpaid advertising.

With 345 users online, it would take me the balance of the day to review all the profiles. We do what we can. It is very helpful when others spot unpaid advertising that they inform us. I am almost 'religious' in my zeal to catch, warn, and where warranted ban unpaid advertisers, but I need your assistance to be successful in this.

Keep in mind also that sometimes it takes a loooooong time for a girl to 'go red' after the money has been received by Fred...

Sometimes the mods know that the girl has paid and are a bit relaxed about letting her get a jump on advertising before the admins get around to 'redding' her.

As a pooner, I have no problem with unpaid advertisers. In fact, the more, the merrier. I'm all about having more choices. Last thing I think I'd do is waste my time reporting one, unless she was incredibly mad fuckin' HOT and I wanted to minimize her exposusre for purely selfish reasons.

well, that sounds good and all.. I'm all over your free advertising idea, really.. but then, the money still has to come from somewhere?... so does that mean you are offering and prepared to pay membership fees to compensate for that loss of revenue for the board? Wow, generous guy... great offer!

CL is still free as far as I know.. so are many other sites anyone can find if they care to look for them. This one isn't.. it doesn't take a genius to figure out that just by signing in or posting, you get free advertising followed by PM's asking about your services...which is way more than you can get on most other paid advertising sites (i.e Eros,EC).

I can certainly understand why you feel any advertisement, whether it is paid or unpaid is still an advantage for you gentlemen. But I don't see why some of us would want to pay for something others decide to get for free.
It's just logical.. you would say the same if your sp charged you $ more than the next guy for the exact same service, wouldn't you? You would be questionning having to pay more than the next guy for the exact same thing too. I'm not mad or freaking out about it. Just kinda thinking:

Besides, to report unpaid advertising you first need to see it. So selfish or not about having more advertisers, it makes no difference to you.. and you still get what you want..

Free advertising is not permitted on PERB period. Sometimes we miss them. Everyday, I remove on average about 10 ads, not to mention sending warnings and suspending repeated violators.

Anytime you see an ad, just send a pm to Moderator with the url to the offending ad and it will be removed.

The advertising revenue is what pays to keep PERB running on its own dedicated servers. No paid advertising means no PERB.

Or you could simply charge all members $10/month to use the site.

i don`t even know how we search for sp`s on the current board. it seems the old board before this update had a link. the thing is, if i were a paying sp, i would want a section that allows for pics and rates for one click quick browsing of sp`s.

The reason I rarely post here is because you told me that because I post so much that I should pay you to be an advertiser.

So I stopped posting.

Unpaid advertising??? Perhaps these people qualify for that. Never ONCE did I ever reccomend myself ever in a thread yet I was told to pay up.

Followed by pricing information though the company I work with is a very prevalent advertiser here and it would be a slap in THEIR faces should I be a private advertiser.

Please keep your rules consistent. That`s what`s pissing people off.

Why the double standards?

In the BBW thread many girls are posting about themselves and never ONCE had I ever done that as an unpaid advertiser.

Perbs advertising system has been a mess for the past 9 months or so, with the paid advertisers intermittantly turning non-red and back again, some of the advertisers being locked out during those times (quite lengthy periods in some cases). There hasn`t been as much incidence lately, since they worked the bugs out of the board upgrade. (Although I noticed SJR had the problem briefly the other day).

Something like that can be a PR nightmare, and doesn`t encourage SP`s to advertise. There has to be a higher level of technical quality than existed on this board.

Also, not accepting VISA as method of payment, only AMEX and MC, is really bone-headed.

The rates for advertising are quite reasonable, as VV said elsewhere $139 for 3 months. Agencies should (maybe they do) pay a higher rate than indy SP`s do.

I agree with removing promotional posts by non-paying advertisers, but the size of the board is making it too unwieldy to do it efficiently.

In the case of TT Tiffany, she is primarily working for Carmen Fox, who is a paid advertiser, but seldom posts. Under her handle of beautifullady https://perb.cc/vbulletin/member.php?u=7985
she has only 3 posts since her join date of 09-07-2004.

Your paying for advertising because you & the few other ladies here who are paying are the only thing keeping this site from declaring pecuniary privation.

It costs Fred money to run this site & with the recent reduction in the number of members here & the exodus of many valued SP's your dollars are more important than ever.

Your victual sustenance is vital to the ongoing efforts to keep this site devoid of those counter culture free thinking radicals who express deviant opinion.
