Lots of free discretionary testing down there makes it easier for Americans mind you, but still a hassle. Feds will drop the inbound testing requirement eventually—probably when public opinion shifts on the matter. Aside from pleasing Canadians wanting to take day trips, they need to drop the tests sooner than later to encourage more visitors from near and far. That's what us poor B-tards down here have to go through to visit up north...not too big of a hassle, but timing is critical
I did'nt realize you don't have the same/similar testing options that us State-siders do (I kind-of assumed your facilities would be better). If you choose to get tested down here, I'd suggest this place (https://www.testdirectly.com/patient/search/provider_search) both times I used them the results came-back within 24 hours.Lots of free discretionary testing down there makes it easier for Americans
I hope you are right…..Highly probable that the requirement is lifted before or as the border opens. just a prediction.
This is the guidance I received from CBSA. Get the test in Canada before you go to the USA.Canada just requires a negative test within 72 hrs to come back.
Yeah.. but a $100 test for a day trip is kinda lame. This is the guidance I received from CBSA. Get the test in Canada before you go to the USA.
$150 from Lifelabs is the cheapest I could find. I’ll be going for a few nights first trip so will be worth it. Won’t be long before they accept an instant test or drop the requirement all together. I think it’s more about warming the Canadian public to the idea of foreign visitors than suppressing disease at this point. Just a matter of time till public opinions shift.Yeah.. but a $100 test for a day trip is kinda lame.
And drops significantly after a few months.People are bitching about the test requirements, but they seem to forget that the vaccine is only around 90% effective. We do need to keep our guard up, even if inconvenient.
How stupid and pointless is the test then? You can be infected while in the states and bring it back.If you take a test in Canada on a Thursday and get the results back on Friday you can make a day trip to USA on a Saturday and come back same day using the same test result as far as I know.
Canada just requires a negative test within 72 hrs to come back.
