Is this snow affecting anybody else' s business? I'm in Nanaimo looking out the window feeling a little depressed and lonely. My phone is quiet and I am missing my clients  I used to work up in Prince George and the snow was a lot worse than this and we were really busy all the time. Hmmm go figure. I guess we have to just wait it out. I'll wrap my blanket around me, sip my tea , cuddle my cat and think of warmer places

Have a great day everyone

People on the island and in Vancouver area are wimps when it comes to winter driving, best they all stay home, lol.

Could be everyone is napping after being up to watch the Canadian men's hockey team win gold last night.

:)
If you want to see some insane winter driving visit Penticton. I'm thinking of walking to the gym for fear of being rear-ended by one of the 70- or 80-somethings. :fear:

Yes, it is natural for our business to slow down when the weather gets tricky. We all know that Lower Mainlanders and Victorians are not the most comfortable with driving in the snow. Sometimes it's not me that's uncertain, what I really don't feel like dealing with is all the other people that don't have a clue how to drive in snow (I was raised in Alberta, and I drive a small, sturdy, gutsy little standard)!

Our business is built on being able to get to the location quickly, park easily, get entertained comfortably, and depart without anyone else knowing that anything happened!

Imagine having to explain how and why you'll be late getting home, and why your car is stranded in some unfamiliar neighbourhood, far away from your usual route. It's just a practical decision.

Don't take it personally. This is a great time to catch up on your reading and writing, or work on your website, send a few overdue e-mails, pay your bills, clean the house, paint the walls, etc!!! I recently sent out 14 "Hey, I miss you and hope you're doing well" (safe) texts, and it was nice to have almost everyone get back to me and we had some nice chats. I'm sure the Spring will pleasantly surprise us all with busy schedules!

Lastly, this is another one of those great reminders why we need to put away some money for a rainy (or snowy) day...

Yeaterday waS pretty busy. THis morning I had a lot of enquires but no one booked. On the upside the gym is (practically) empty. Might walk home now. I am wearing gumboots and carrying an umbrella. Lol... :D

Maybe I will start offering ' SNOW DAY' Specials!:)

Personally I feel wasted from getting up at 3:45 AM to watch the game. There probably is a lack of motivation to get off the couch today

Yes i have heard that . never noticed it made it any warmer but I have heard it
you can even feel the moisture in your lungs freeze dry
yep this is way better than a wet minus 40
Being an ex-Albertan, I feel your pain. I'll take a Vancouver winter over anywhere else in this country ANY DAY! Hang in there; you're probably as prepared for your weather as you can possiibly be, and maybe we can treat you to a Vancouver winter visit sometime in the future!

I would drive in a blizzard and a foot of snow if it meant I could get a sweet deal from a lovely lady. Cat, pussy and all.

It's not snowing where I am on the Island :(
It's mostly rain,
However according to the weather forecast it looks like the bad weather should be ending soon!

You seem sad that you are missing out on the snow. Being from back east I love the snow too, so it is fantastic after three years of being in Vancouver area - seeing snow. You could always move to Vancouver Violet, I would love to be a regular customer.

I am sad!
I wanted to build a snowmen this year, You're never too old to have fun in the snow!
Vancouver is nice to visit however despite being my hometown, I prefer the island; for now at least.

Well I might just do something crazy because of what you said and go out and build a snow man in the dark of the night, because you my friend have inspired me. I will be happy for both of us
