The beautiful Fraser Valley !
With the COVID-19 Vaccines having been readily available for some time, to any eligible Canadian who wants the Jab . Should We as a Society have to absorb the extremely high Cost of an ICU Stay because of ill-conceived Decisions made by the Anti-Vaxxer Community ? 🤔

To the best of my knowledge, almost all of the Patients currently in the ICU of our Hospitals for COVID-19, are People who chose not to get Vaccinated .

Nobody has to buy House Insurance either, it's a free Choice !
But, if your House burns down, You're on the hook for the replacement Cost .
Should there really be any difference for bad Choices ?

Healthcare is a public good. It's paid by the public for the benefit of the public. Why a member of the public needs healthcare services does not come into the "calculus". Or put another way, good or bad choices does not exclude you from being a member of the public. You're basically advocating for a system that a public good (paid for by the public) should be a system based on your subjective beliefs on "those that deserve it." Should a coal miner that gets lung cancer from inhaling fumes on the job for 40 years be "covered" by universal healthcare but the smoker that smoked a pack of cigarettes not be covered? And your reasoning is "it was their choice that landed them in the hospital." That reasoning can then be "flipped" to come to the conclusion that the coal miner "chose" that profession so he/she made the choice that ultimately led to their need for healthcare services.

Check your closet..:)
Hmmmmm

Should the drug addict have to pay for the drug that saves their lives....???
Should a smoker have to pay for their lung cancer treatments....??
Should the idiots that have to be rescued pay for the services that saves them....??
Should the criminals that get shot have to pay for their medical bills.....??

On and on and on and on.......

The answer is NO

I would like to say “make them pay” but that’s just going too far.
Especially if someone dies, are you going to plunder their estate and leave any dependants destitute?

No that’s pretty much racism. My body my choice I pay my taxes and have good benifts

Im so sick of everyone saying u must get the jab
Sorry not me or 80% of my friends
Exactly. It is your right, just as much as it is my right to tell you to stay away from me, my family, my friends, Service Providers and every other human being you are putting at risk. Stay unvaxxed, but stay home. And as far as it is against your rights to ask for a Vaccine Passport to enter a restaurant. It is PRIVATE PROPERTY, so they have the right to refuse service, or entry, for any number of reasons, not the least of which you are putting them, their customers and staff at risk.

90% of the current patients in hospital and ICU across the country are those that have chosen to not be vaccinated. What about my rights and the rights of health care workers, the elderly and so on.

It was released today that it costs $50,000 dollars per patient in ICU. Money better spent elsewhere. So while you are standing up for your rights, you are stepping all over mine.
