May take care of yourself leave healthier than may you can stay in hobby longer?Good question and fantastic to see people responding with positive examples of self-care. Wish I could add to the positive side but I can't.
The only two self-care items I do is take a vitamin once a day and have 30 to 40 minutes of a horizontal workout on the weekend. Sex does a body good.
Otherwise I am the most unhealthy (once a day eating) vegetarian in the world who has pizza three times a week and eat eggs or fake meat products the rest of the week.
Work seven days a week. Up to 14 hours a day (Sundays only 4) Sitting at my desk and rarely getting up to go anywhere but to meetings.
For my mental health, I complain to my employees about every rule and regulation our company establishes and I encourage my team to break the rules.
I dish out sarcasm like it is an Olympic Sport and I make jokes about everything. Oh and I pick on and antagonize Republicans. They are easy targets.
Actually I don't understand how I am still alive with no exercise and poor eating habits yet at my last check-up my Doctor exclaimed that I must be exercising regularly because the blood tests and BP results have been really good LOL.
So how do I get the good results? I cheat. I learned that if I get my blood tests around noon instead of first thing in the morning I drop 15 years off my age.
SO Back to the question of self-care I would have to say perhaps that my self-care is a "don't care" attitude. Knocks wood.
i know this feeling ? do you have someone to talk to? I recently went back to therapy and it’s been the bomb dot com
You should seek professional help. Wish you well, take care.

Or like even if it isn’t uplifting that’s cool too ??♀ you’re still a human being who deserves to care for yourself whether it makes you feel better right away or not. Try treating yourself like a child, that’s what I do when I’m really struggling:Don't apologise. You were on topic - you just didn't have answers, yet.
Having put it out there, you might even find that some of the ideas offered in response are useful. Even just the fact that Charlee takes the time to offer thoughtful replies is uplifting, isn't it?
