How badly do they suck ass. Robinson Cano 240 million contract! He has 8 more years left and showing no signs of being the once great player he was. Finally they fired the GM today. I think the only people that go to games now are tourists and retired people. I've worked a few games for them and you can tell locals rather go for a bicycle ride than to Safeco Field.

Jack Zduriencik was a knucklehead during his tenure (Cano contract) but at least he didn't make that horrendous trade his predecessor (Bill Bavasi) made with Baltimore. Adam Jones, George Sherrill, Chris Tillman and two other slugs for Erik Bedard. That has to be one of the worst trades in Major League Baseball history.

They should have stuck on the path of sucking and built their team theough draft and acquiring young players instead of spending the money on cano. I am surprised Cruz is having the season he is. I thought he would be on the decline. Better to trade king felix soon and start fresh.

Dissapointing season after last year just finishing a couple games out of a wild card.I thought getting Cruz would of put in the playoffs,he is having a great season.Robinson Cano sold a lot of jersys and brought a lot of fans to the park last year but 300 million is a lot for someone with 14 home runs.

Most people would not go to a game for free, but somehow they still manage to average over 25,000 per game. Just who are these people?

My guess is that the 25,000 are tickets are owned by season ticket holders. But, even they must pay somebody to use their free tickets for them.

Keeping up appearances. Without a doubt, the Mariners are the most disappointing team in all of MLB, considering all the preseaon preditictions for them.

Rodney blew so many saves early on in games they should have won and it kind of snowballed from there. The bullpen in general has been poor and in today's game, with pitch counts where the majority of starters are done after 5 or 6 innings, you really need to have a deep and reliable pen. You look at the Jays, they add quality middle relievers like Hawkins and Lowe, then you have Sanchez and Ozuna at the end who aren't asked to pitch more than one inning, just handle the 8th and 9th innings. Winning teams don't just have the lights-out late-inning guys, they have the versatile middle relief, with situational guys like Cecil who can get a key left-handed hitter out in close games. The Mariners have other issues too, but nothing can suck the life out of a team more than a bullpen costing you games.
