....and the season approaches. We are all adults, we have doubts, we have questions. Having said that....when was the first time you figured out that Santa was a wee bit of a dream? For me, I would think...and I do have to think on this...I may still get it wrong...it was NOT a defining moment...likely my childhood was lacking. Even though it wasn't and I am respectful of the ones that brought me up....i will say it in the attempt of political correctness. In any event, I will say...hmmm...maybe 8? I am guessing that I was convinced by schoolyard friends...much the same way as I was convinced there was no stork nor a fairy toothprincess. I religiously conducted myself in the hopes of currying favour of each of the above mentioned...not to mention the Easter Bunny...and I have used the same tricks upon my beloved children.

I admire and love their critical thinking. Little else brings me a smile than to hear them express a doubt....and I know I should be supportive of faith....so, as a single father without sole custody but having preferred custody, i defer and say little. I will smile and tell them how much I love them...and how they have the right and obligation to tell me how much I annoy them.

I love this life and the seasonal aspirations it brings,

most respectfully,

eddie.

lol...Hubba...thanks. I mostly think of myself as an idiot..but, I think that's healthy. It is scary when you meet me and I am full of self confidence....gawd help you. And, I am sure God will help you n'est ce pas? Lesson 101...how to turn any good conversation into a mindless droning argument...bring up politics, religion, or a conspiracy. I love paying taxes so that's a short answer.

laughing...and thank for the reply,

eddie.

I don't know, like 6 or something like that? I think most kids figure it out by the time they are able to process the most basic logic, but it's not like they're eager to let people know they know he's fake, because their natural assumption is that they should pretend they still believe in him in order to keep getting presents from their parents.

I think if you walk around asking children and parents seperately, they will each say they don't believe in Santa, but they pretend that they do for the sake of the other.

my previous reply made no sense with respect to yours durr. I will say...that, at the age of 6....i was not in a mindset to challenge the beliefs of society. And, at the age of 50, I feel less equipped to do it now than I did then. My error but...I love my errors. My errors make sense of my life.

I think Santa rocks and I am waiting for him....please don't disappoint me Santa...you fucker.

kindest,

A wee bit of a dream, the result of a wee bit of a dram.:D
lol...you are absolutely correct in that perception. A wee bit of a dram indeed...I have already chatted with my kids mom....the Mistress...and the switch. The switch has accepted my apology and is on her way over....so that's pretty cool. I intend to have a few more with my friend the switch...come see us at the Inglewood pub...I will be the guy in the corner with the cute chick that you can't figure out why I'm with. Sorry...but...not sorry. Come chat.

kindest,

eddie.

The monster under your bed
I have grown to believe more in Santa, not as a person we were led to
believe in as kids, but more as an inbodyment of joy and peace.
Santa is a figure of hope and dreams, ones that can come true, all you have to do is wish.
He is the feeling of friendship and love, care and compasion, and Joy.

So for me Santa is Real, he always will be. Maybe not the fat man stuck in the fire place,
But he exists in our hearts.;)
