I hope the Ryder Cup gets nasty as the drama can be sublime. This is Sergio's time to shine. I am liking the Euro's this year despite being on the road.

The Euros take it more seriously than the Americans but I think the US players really want to win for a captain that they like. The US team is solid this year and the Euros have too many players coming in with poor form...Westwood, Kaymer, McDowell. I also think Medinah strongly favors the US unless they set it up really weird. The US really should steamroll Europe but given their inability to dominate except for in singles, I'll still take the Americans but not completely running away with it.

I think your analysis is solid Elmore, but I have the feeling that the Euros are mentally tougher and more the street fighters.

I saw the captain press conferences and Love has a real issue in terms of who to sit out in matches because so many guys are playing well right now. Sounds like a good problem to have.

Put the glue away Maxxx. Most of the golf channel experts are going with the US which makes me feel a bit better about my Euro selection.

My money is on Europe. They play better as a team whereas USA's players aren't team players - hence the reason they always do better in singles as opposed to the 4 ball or alternate shot format

Stricker's been awful - Tiger very ordinary bordering on awful; he scored pretty well Friday but ran into a hot Colsaerts. Wondering if Love shouldn't have split them up for the Saturday afternoon matches.

Wow...Rory McIlroy arrives around 10 minutes before his tee time with a police escort for his singles match. He was watching the golf channel and they always refer to the time in Eastern time but Chicago is Central time...he is literally running to the 1st tee...no warmup or anything.

Things are getting tight...10 - 10...Rose just holed a bomb at 17 vs. Mickelson to tie that match. I thought the last few matches would be meaningless but it looks like it could come right down to the wire.
Great stuff out there today from the Euros in the early matches.

Keegan and Furyk went cold at the wrong time.

Hindsight is 20/20 but Stricker was a pick because he is the only one who can "play with Tiger" and that blew up.

Poor Steve. This is the sort of thing that could really mess with a guys head going forward. This just wasn't his week.

Stricker was the only one of the 4 picks that was pretty much a guarantee before the picks were announced by Love and it was largely because of the perception that he was the best fit as a playing partner for Woods.

Okay...We all know I am in Rory's corner...I think he will be the next big thing for a few more years...

Not just because he is a good golfer...I like his style...Jack, Payne, Arnie, all very hard core competitors...

Yet they were all Gentlemen...Win or Lose...Something you just don't see anymore in golf...a "Gentlemans Game"...

Phil has always been a good sport, he likes to gamble, win or lose...always a smile on his face...
