Can you goto this site and run the internet speed test.

Click on the Seattle Wa one.

Right now Telus has a deal till the end of October when you sign up you get a free camera and fairly cheaper rates than I'm paying for one stand alone Shaw extreme internet connection ($60/mo) Telus has their own enhanced version too.

My buddy out in Mission ran the test, hes on Telus enhanced, and scored pitiful. 1200 down :( and 500 up.

The up part was good, but his down is hurtin.

My results with Shaw Extreme in Surrey.
6685 down
935 up

Regular Shaw and Regular Telus running through a dual-port WAN hub. :) Better speeds when using a download manager that splits the file.

I have 4865 download and 402 upload

The 402 upload is because of my security setup preventing the test doing everything it wanted.

My conclusions thus far.

Most of you have pretty good speeds down, some have crazy up speeds...3000....4000...7000 up speeds.

Most on Shaw regular or extreme. Hi-fi still struggling like a crack-whore on the hotels dial up as per norm. :)

Need some Telus chaps to give results too.

Well, I had both Telus Enhanced and Shaw Extreme for 6 month. Hooked them up thru a load balancing router. In the end, I decided it was not worth it so I cancelled the Telus Enhance 2.5MBPS.

Because the technology behind the two different connections (ADSL vs Cable), you can get a much faster speed with SHAW extreme(Advertise speed is 7Mbps down and 1 or 1.5Mbps downstream), but there is no guarntee of the speed, I can only get roughly 5Mbps down and 700ish kbps up. If the pipeline is congested, it will drag your speed down. ADSL is not as fast, but it gives you a dedicated line with speed consistency, you get the speed close to what is advertised.
