RIP Doc so sudden and tragic.
One of the best pitchers not only for his no no and perfect game but he had so many complete games.
Always got pumped watching him pitch.

right here and now
I'd say he was the best pitcher in Jay's history.
RIP Doc.

Reports now that he had been showing off and doing aerial stunts for a couple of days.

His wife didn't like him flying anyway. If the showboating is true, he's a dunbass.

Sympathy to his family.

where did you get the showing-off info? I haven't seen anything that gives much other than that he crashed into the Gulf of Mexico.

People started filming him because they were stunned at what he was doing.

TMZ has footage, and claims from witnesses that said he'd been stunt flying for a couple of days.

yes, I read that on MSN shortly after I posted. He was descending to within 5' of the water? So not a good idea.

Engine failure is one thing, but this is looking like it was avoidable.

More info s/b forthcoming.

As much as you hate to see somebody go out needlessly, at least this "professional" was on his own....
