I think Luongo is worth every penny. He has so much upside to him, if for some reason he doesn't work out, we'll be able to trade him to whatever team knowing that we will get something reasonable in return. Given the fact that he has quite a good goals against average and save percentage in a team that has next to no defence, he should thrive in an enviroment which hopefully has a average, if not better than average defence. Luongo also had 4 shut-outs. Auld, has none! (in this last season at least)

As long as Luongo plays to his potential, he will be the best thing that happened to the Canucks in awhile. If Roloson returns to Edmonton, the Oilers are going to be tough to beat (even without Pronger because he will be replaced with talent). Calgary has Mika, and he has proven what a good goalie can do for a team without much else. The Nucks needed to get a top goalie to keep up with their divisional rivals, and they now have him. I think Jovo will be gone, and the money saved there can hopefully pick up one or two $1.5M defencemen in the free agent pool. Bordon and that Russian will also fill some defensive void. We still need a centreman, so Nonis will probably be up first thing tomorrow trying to sign some lower priced talent. Cloutier is also history, but it's yet to be seen whether he starts the season in Winnipeg, or if we get a draft pick or a bag of pucks for him. I just heard that the Sedins were signed for 3 years for about $3.5M each season ... Jovo is not coming back!

Canucks still haven't opened up their wallets to sign the Sedins and Carter.

Didn't you see the accompanying photo of Roberts on top of Morrison? I thought I made it clear that I was joking.

Who knew? R. Luongo 43 Wins...

To be honest I think the Luongo deal was a mistake... Trading Bertuzzi definetly wasn't. The simply fact of the matter is that the Canucks wont make the playoff's next year, and more than likely not the year after that. Much like Jovo, Loungo is an overated and untested, with huge potential, but almost no delivery to this point in his career. Why sign a guy, who's roots are in a place almost the polar opposite to Vancouver. I see Luongo in a Tampa Bay uniform next season, unless the Canucks are smart enough to flip him to a team like Ottawa.

The Canucks are sorely lacking in talent up front past the Sedin twins ( which i cant believe I'm fucking saying) The Canucks need to rebuild, and will be, at least for the next few years, I only hope Nonis is smart enough to pull it together.

Why the else, was Mark Crawford so happy the Canucks gave him his walking papers? He won't have to deal with the carnage of the rebuild.

Auld was a GOOD GOALIE, and I'm sorry to see him go.

After this year Luongo has a no trade clause kicking in next season and so the canucks cant trade him. We're past the trading dealine already so unless Luongo approves of the deal it wont happen.

Errr...Luongo is one of three reasons why we're tied for 1st place in the Northwest Division. The other reasons are Sedin and Sedin. Why would you want to trade him next year?
