Rave For Madonna!

CaraClementine

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Like many others in Vancouver, I went to see Madonna last night.
I have been a fan since I was a child, and have seen her in concert before.

This show was incredible.. there were some cool special effects, and she looked great. I liked the athletic theme she had going.

One can only hope to look that good at 50 years old! (she may have had some botox here and there) She has had a life time of fitness, and healthy living, and it has paid off.
For a few years, her live singing voice was poor, but last night, her voice was great.

I have to say I was a little disappointed that she did not perform an encore, and she did not sing Holiday, as she has always done on her tours.
I'm not so sure she enjoyed Vancouver, and I doubt she will return.
I know that she was pissed off that people around the stage were smoking, and that she could see the clock display.

For the first 2 songs, she tried to get people to sing along... but it took a little longer for the crowd to get into things. I have a feeling that the concert was livelier at bigger cities around the world.
I also noticed that there was minimal audience interaction. She usually talks to the audience more.

All the same, it was an awesome experience to watch an idol live after all these years!

This rave is kind of long... but if there are Madonna fans on PERB then you can appreciate the discussion

down boy down LOL

I would love to see her! Her live London show was spectacular on tv. I'd be pissed if she didn't sing Holiday or Lucky Star. No encore? such a bitch! i love it!

My bedroom was plastered with George Michael, Madonna and Michael Jackson when i was a kid!

Pink Floyd is another ATV's I would give an arm and leg to have seen live

Madonna's acts are too mechanical. It's like she's just a robot performing. I used to like her a lot, now, I don't.
Adriana, I saw Pink Floyd without Roger Waters many years ago at BC Place. It was pretty good, but because Rogers wasn't there it wasn't as good as it could've been.

Fat chance at seeing Pink Floyd live as Roger Waters and David Gilmour aren't on the best of terms but I heard that Roger Water's show earlier this year was quite good. David Gilmour also puts on a good show I've heard.

I haven't been a fan of Madonna since "Like a Prayer." From the whole "Truth of Dare" phase on, she just seems to try too hard. She lost that acletic kind of appeal she had in her "Lucky Star" days when she seemed more accesible. She's on a petistal because her fans put her and she hads no intent of stepping down. More power to her and her fans, just saying that she has come a long way and IMO, I don't think it has helped her in an artistic sense.
